Internet slams Billie Eilish over her criticism of artists releasing 'wasteful' vinyl for albums
LOS ANGELES, CALIFORNIA: Billie Eilish, known for hits like 'Ocean Eyes', stirred up a storm on social media recently when she shared her opinion on vinyl variants of an album, calling it 'wasteful' and criticizing big artists for producing them.
However, her remarks didn't go unnoticed, with many users slamming her for it.
Eilish also found herself in the spotlight recently when she achieved a remarkable feat by becoming the first woman to win the prestigious 'Triple Crown' for a movie song.
This recognition came after her track 'What Was I Made For?' featured in the hit movie 'Barbie' clinched the title of Best Original Song at the Oscars, the Grammys, and the Golden Globes.

Billie Eilish asserts she hates vinyl versions of albums
According to Billboard, the singer behind 'Bad Guy' didn't hold back when she criticized the music industry and big-name artists for flooding the market with multiple vinyl versions of their albums just to boost sales.
In an interview about her efforts toward sustainability with Billboard, published on Thursday, Eilish spoke out against this practice, stating, "We live in this day and age where, for some reason, it’s very important to some artists to make all sorts of different vinyl and packaging … which ups the sales and ups the numbers and gets them more money and gets them more."
She also expressed frustration and said, "I can’t even express to you how wasteful it is. It is right in front of our faces and people are just getting away with it left and right, and I find it frustrating as somebody who really goes out of my way to be sustainable and do the best that I can and try to involve everybody in my team in being sustainable. And then it’s some of the biggest artists in the world making f***ing 40 different vinyl packages that have a different unique thing just to get you to keep buying more."

Critics quickly pointed out that Eilish's album, 'Happier Than Ever', was available in eight different vinyl versions. Although these variants were touted as being eco-friendly as per Billboard, trolls still aimed at Eilish for her comments.
While Eilish didn't name names, several high-profile artists like Taylor Swift, Travis Scott, Olivia Rodrigo, and Blink-182 have all released multiple vinyl editions of their recent albums, as reported by the Daily Mail.
