Tammy Slaton says she wants to make sure she is healthy to conceive
In the recent episode of '1000-Lb Sisters', Tammy visited board-certified OB/GYN Dr Cindy Basinski and she was joined by her sister Amy Slaton.
"I wanna see if I can conceive," Tammy told the doctor, adding "I wanna make sure everything’s healthy down there. I had an IUD put in… it needed to be taken out in 2016. So it’s still in."
During the session, Amy laughed saying, "Tammy’s had an IUD in there for like 12 years. I’m like, are you sure it ain’t permanently attached now? Did it absorb? Can they find it?"
"I think it’s got a permanent place of residence. It said, ‘B***h I’ve been here for 12 years, I ain’t moving,'" she added.
Dr Basinski expressed concerns about potential health problems arising from keeping the IUD for such a long time, especially if Tammy is trying to conceive a baby. The reality star admitted that being overweight stopped her from going to the doctor to have it removed.
Tammy Slaton says she's 'handi-capable, not handicapped'
People's exclusive clip from the Tuesday episode was filmed before Tammy's husband Caleb Willingham's death in June 2023. The doctor is seen asking if Tammy and her husband are sexually active.
At the time, the 37-year-old responded by saying that Willingham is currently living at a rehabilitation facility in Ohio where they first met.
"I know being bigger has disadvantages with sex, but I can do anything if I put my mind to it. I’m handi-capable, not handicapped," said Tammy.

Basinski then further inquired about Tammy's last period to which she admits not remembering. "There could be a slight chance I might be pregnant now,” said Tammy.
"I’ve been craving weird things that I’m not normally craving…like water. I’m craving water," she added.
The doctor and Amy remained silent as they looked confused by Tammy's response. "Bitch you ain’t pregnant you’re thirsty," Amy told Tammy at the time.
"You’re just thirsty, bitch. Go drink you some water," she added.
