'I don't hide in anyone's shadow': Larsa Pippen hits back at digs about riding the Kardashians' coattails
MIAMI, FLORIDA: Larsa Pippen has taken control of her own life and is tired of people making fun of her for being famous while riding on other people's backs.
'The Real Housewives of Miami' star acknowledges in an exclusive interview with PEOPLE that she is not disturbed by the Bravo women's continuous jabs at her friendship with the Kardashians.
The 49-year-old television personality claims she does not take offense since she is aware of how far she has come on her own, independent of her former famous friends.

Larsa Pippen asserts that she doesn't 'hide in anyone's shadow'
Speaking with PEOPLE magazine, Pippen explained, "You know that for the last 10 years, I’ve been working on my brand and my superstar kids. That’s really where I’ve been."
She added, "I haven’t been anywhere else, or sucking up to anyone else. I’ve always lived in different states. Always had famous friends and always been working to grow and evolve."
Fans witnessed a tense altercation between Pippen and her costars, Lisa Hochstein and Adriana De Moura, in the mid-season trailer for Season 6 of 'RHOM', released on Bravo in December 2023.
As Adriana went too far and threw Pippen's connection with the Kardashians in her face last season, the mother of three demanded an apology from the ladies for being an "a*****e".
"Adriana is literally the same person she was 13 years ago," Pippen told PEOPLE, adding that she can see why Adriana is critical of her past with the well-known family.
Pippe further explained of Adriana, "She says that because she hasn’t evolved. I feel like for me, I’ve evolved and come so far from where I was 13 years ago."
"So I don’t really pay her or anyone who says that any attention because I feel like I’m really focused on the things that matter, the things that make a difference for me and the people around me," she said.
Pippen maintained that she does not "hide in anyone's shadow," that she has always "stood on my own two feet," and that she doesn't "tie myself to anyone."
"I’m my own person. I feel like I’m good being alone, I’m good," Pippen added.
Why did the Kardashians and Larsa Pippen fall out?
Larsa Pippen and Kim Kardashian initially grew close while collaborating on the film 'Kourtney and Kim Take Miami'.
Things took a sharp turn when Pippen was not invited to Kim's sister Khloe Kardashian's lavish 36th birthday celebration, per the Screen Rant.
In 2020, Pippen's long-term friendship with the Kardashians came to an end. The reality star said she didn't "even know what happened" in a February 2022 episode of 'RHOM'.
The 'RHOM' star was never hesitant to say who she believed was to blame for their friendship's breakdown, even if she insisted there were several reasons why they had fallen out.
Pippen and Kim lost their connection when she became the "person that was stuck in the middle" of Kim's marital strife with her then-husband Kanye West.
In the confessional, she said, "I was best friends with Kim, and I love her and I love Kanye, and I just was the person that was stuck in the middle."
"I took a beating because I was the friend that was basically there and saw everything. And that basically was the demise of our relationship. I knew too much, I was a problem, and so, whatever. That's kind of what happened," Pippen said at the time.
Internet reacts to Larsa Pippen's latest revelation
Following the 'RHOM' star's latest revelation, Internet users took to Facebook to ridicule the actress.
One such user mocked, "Larissa is always trying to find someone’s coattails to stay relevant," while another one noted, "They all have. The greed of fame and wealth is all they know."
One user snarked, "I believe her she got kicked to the curb because She was eye candy for Tristan."
One more online user noted, "That’s true Larsa that’s True. I remember when you’re first time guest on Kardashians you look like very poor and trying to fit in with THE KARDASHIANS DUHHH."
"Well let’s see, Pippen the Kardashians and now Jordan’s son. I think we have all judged for ourselves!!!" said another one.
"And they rode Paris Hilton’s coattails and STOLE from Brandy’s mom. I have no use for Larsa, but what’s the point?" questioned another one.
One more seethed, "Absolutely correct, she gained fame by riding on the fronts of others not backs."
