LOS ANGELES, CALIFORNIA: Howard Stern has opened up for the first time after celebrated comedian Jerry Seinfeld questioned his comedy skills.

During his ‘The Howard Stern Show', the host addressed Seinfield's comment, acknowledging that he wanted to apologize, instead Stern apologized for the things he said and had done previously, confessing "I f**k up sometimes."

What did Jerry Seinfeld say about Howard Stern?

“Jerry had said that basically I’m an interviewer and that I’m not a comedian, and that now comedians have podcasts and comedians are, you know, funnier or something than me,” Stern began.

“I read it, and I went, ‘Oh, that’s weird,’ because Jerry is a personal friend of ours. Especially his wife, Jessica [Seinfeld], is really good friends with Beth [Stern]."

Howard Stern talks about 'awkward' apology from Jerry Seinfeld

The 70-year-old also shared that Seinfeld called him ‘immediately’ and apologized for his remark, as reported by the New York Post.

“I said ‘Jerry, you don’t even have to — please. This is embarrassing. I’m the king of going on the air and having millions of regrets afterward. Apology accepted, I don’t care,'" Stern said.

"And you know what? If I’m not a comedian, I’m an interviewer. I don’t know what I am. I always considered myself a bit of a comedian, but whatever it is, don’t worry about it,’” he continued.

The podcast host further said that Seinfeld “apologized for a really long time, and he said it really came out wrong.”

Stern shared that Seinfeld wanted to come in person and apologize, “I said, ‘Not necessary, I don’t wanna get into it. It’s awkward, it’s fine.'"

“I said, ‘I’ve had to apologize to you for s**t I’ve said. I’ve had to call up people and apologize for s**t I’ve done on the air when I’m a huge fan of these people. I don’t know what gets into me, I f**k up sometimes,'” Stern further said.

“So it wasn’t really that big a deal. I didn’t really think much about it,” he concluded.

Internet pokes fun at Howard Stern over Jerry Seinfeld's shading his comic skills

Netizens reacted to Howard Stern's opening up on Jerry Seinfeld shading him over comic abilities.

One person wrote, "Used to listen to Stern every morning on way to work, stopped listening when he left regular radio, even though I had SiriusXM. He got divorced, got the trophy wife, changed his politics, no old bits & became Hamptons Howie. 100% unfunny after that."

"Howard the sell-out, the toast of the bourgeois Hamptons DNC 'elite.' Don't spend it all in one place, Howie," another wrote.

One felt, "Joe Rogan is far ahead of Stern in popularity and importance as a ( sometimes humorous ) podcaster."

"Two multi-millionaire has beens still desperate for attention. Both haven't been funny since the last century," quipped one.

"Stern is also not a great interviewer either," remarked another user.
