LAS VEGAS, NEVADA: Usher is set to perform at the Super Bowl LVIII halftime show on Sunday, February 11.

During his conversation with Entertainment Tonight, the singer was asked about the songs he’d be performing at the event. "I would be a fool to not play ‘Yeah!' let's just start there," Usher said.

"It would be foolish to make it all the way to Las Vegas, Jon is here, Luda's here and not play 'Yeah!'," he added.

"Having the Super Bowl make its way to Las Vegas, I'm hoping that I gave him no option [but to be the choice]," he told the outlet while laughing.

"It was the belief that my investment in this city far exceeded just my residency. It's just reinvigorated my brand, my energy, my excitement about music," Usher continued.

Usher says he's only got '13 minutes' to perform his best songs

During his interview with Apple Music, Usher said how he had to bring the best of the songs within 13 minutes.

"I gotta do it in 13 minutes. That makes it a bit difficult." The 45-year-old added, “It's definitely been a challenge to squeeze 30 years into 13 minutes."

"I was very mindful of my past, celebrating my present — which is here in Las Vegas — and thinking about where we're headed in the future,” he said.

"That was really the idea," Usher said, comparing his special moments in his Las Vegas residency with the Super Bowl. “But you're going to get the best of it because it's before 60,000 people in this room — and hopefully 180,000 people, 80 million people for the world to see,” he added.

Usher shares his 2011 Super Bowl Halftime experience

Recalling his Super Bowl halftime show along with Black Eyed Peas in 2011, Usher said, “My hand got caught in the wire that was holding me like 30 feet in the air.”

“And I almost missed my first mark. I was like, 'Oh my God, don't let this malfunction caused me to miss something,’” he added.

“But it was really fueled by being able to be just in that moment with the Black Eyed Peas," Usher said.

The Kansas City Chiefs is set to play the San Francisco 49ers in Super Bowl LVIII, starting at 6.30 pm ET on Sunday, February 11.
