'I hope she finds peace': Fans react as Cardi B announces 'she is a single woman now' after split with Offset

LOS ANGELES, CALIFORNIA: Cardi B has revealed that she is a single woman now, thus confirming and putting an end to the rumors surrounding her break up with Offset which circulated all over social media since last week. The 31-year-old rapper opened up on Instagram Live over the weekend as she confessed, "I’ve been single for a minute now,” according to a recording of the livestream shared on X.

The Grammy Winner continued, "But I have been afraid… Not afraid, I just don’t know how to tell the world. But I feel like today has been, like, a sign.” She also said that she wants to start the new year “fresh” and “open,” as she admitted, “I’m curious for a new life, for a new beginning. And yeah… I’m excited.”

This shocking but seemingly predictable status update comes after the duo attended the same event on Sunday night, December 10, at TikTok In the Mix music festival in Mesa, Arizona, but were not photographed together.

Cardi also acknowledged that her recent social media activity has been full of "clues" about her relationship status during the Live. Hawk-eyed fans previously noticed that she and Offset, who got married privately in 2017, had both unfollowed each other on Instagram last week. 

"I don't know if you guys have been getting clues from me, from my Lives, or from my Stories, when I put some certain music, or find my unfollowings," she said during the Live, Marca reports. The 'Up' singer shared some cryptic messages that hinted at possible relationship trouble on her Instagram Stories on December 4, including, "You know when you just out grow relationships.”

She added to the statement, "I'm tired of protecting peoples feelings...I GOTTA PUT MYSELF FIRST." The mother of two apparently referred to Blueface’s claim in a now-deleted tweet that his ex-girlfriend and mother of his son, Chrisean, was intimate with Offset.

He later went into specifics, claiming that Chrisean hooked up with the Migos rapper at Offset and Cardi’s LA residence in November. Chrisean appeared to deny the accusations on X, replying in part that Blueface was “making up s**t.”

Offset also refuted those claims on X with a tweet of his own. “I ain’t never talk or touch that lady,” he said in his rebuttal, adding “Real Talk man you need some help!”

Offset, 31, also posted to his Instagram Story in the wake of the unfollowing news last week. He posted a Scarface clip to his Story featuring Al Pacino yelling, “Hey, f**k you, man! Who put this thing together? Me! Who do I trust? Me!”

Cardi B and Offset celebrated their fifth anniversary in September 2023 

The now former couple, who share daughter Kulture, five, and son Wave, two, celebrated their fifth wedding anniversary in September and Offset gave his wife an extravagant show of love as he covered their home with several massive bouquets of pink and red flowers. 

"Thank you for the flowers, the empowerment, the protection and for being a great father to our children… I love so many things about you," the 'WAP' singer wrote on Instagram as she shared a video of the impressive display. 

“I love the fact that I’m with a grown ass man that’s going to provide, protect and help both of us GROW and can handle my mouth, my attitude, my confidence my weakness and all this ass!!," Offset said.

In his own Instagram post, Offset wrote of his wife, "Since I met you I grown to become a better man no matter what you have my back and I can trust you with my life blessed to have a loyal strong woman on my side…you are my safe place in this crazy world."

X users have also voiced their opinions following Cardi B's Instagram announcement. One user tweeted, "At least she’s not married to sex offender." Another wrote, "Wishing Cardi B the best during this time. Relationships can be challenging and I hope she finds peace and happiness." 

"Bout time, idk why she stayed with his cheating ass as long as she did", one opined while another penned, "This is like a tradition...they do this every year so this nothing new."
