Rihanna revealed she 'let God lead and just let go'

The 'Umbrella' hit-maker and the 'Fashion Killa' rap star began dating soon before the global pandemic began and now Rihanna believes the pandemic was a turning point in their relationship.

The 'We Found Love' hitmaker—who shares two kids RZA and Riot with Rocky— revealed to Interview magazine: "COVID sped up our relationship, which I felt like God knew we needed to because we were going to start a family."

"And had it not been for COVID, we would've taken a lot more time to get comfortable with each other, to even know that we were ready," Rihanna added.

Rihanna clarified, saying, "I let God lead and just let go. Because in previous relationships, I tried and tried and tried my best, and you still feel like it's not enough."

The award-winning performer—who previously dated businessman Hassan Jameel and singer Chris Brown—feels that her current relationship is unlike anything she has ever experienced, and had always believed that Rocky would be a "great dad."

RiRi said, "So when someone sees you completely, and believes in you, and thinks you're worthy of being the mother of their kids, it's a great feeling. I felt the same about him. I knew he would be a great dad."

When asked if she's amazed by everything she's accomplished in her life, Rihanna said, "The only thing that I knew I wanted, or that I could imagine, was motherhood."

"I didn't know how it would come, but it is the best part of my journey so far. Everything else was a surprise."

The pop sensation is eager to have more children, even though she already has two boys with Rocky. When asked how many kids she would like to have, Rihanna replied, "As many as God wants me to have."

Rihanna reveals exact timeline of romantic relationship with A$AP Rocky

After years of rumors, the 'We Found Love' singer finally confirmed when her long-term friendship with A$AP Rocky turned amorous. Rihanna also said that it was a natural next step for the creatives who shared her views.

"We saw fashion the same. We saw creative the same. We ended up in the same circles a lot," she explained in the Interview Magazine conversation with former stylist Mel Ottenberg.

Rihanna continued: "And past that, when we grew up, we ended up supporting each other's brands and products and creative all the time. I would wear his s**t, he would show up to my launches. But it wasn't until the end of 2019..."

The couple had been close to one another for a long time, so when they started dating, they each knew pretty well what to expect from the other.

"We've known each other for a long time. I've seen him in relationships. He's seen me in relationships. We've seen each other outside of relationships."

"We knew what we're capable of, and the trouble that we could bring to each other's lives. We can make or break each other's hearts. And so, we started dating with a lot of caution," the 'Rude Boy' hitmaker explained.

Although Rihanna was not sure if their romance would work out or not, she was determined to give it a shot.

"I just let whatever was supposed to happen, happen. It was just, 'This is a flower. It's either going to die or blossom. But I'm going to let it decide itself'," she remarked.

Four years and two children later, it appears that the flower has blossomed into a thriving relationship, propelled by the COVID-19 pandemic.
