LOS ANGELES, CALIFORNIA: Kylie Minogue is still ‘traumatized' by her recent battle with breast cancer. The singer-songwriter, who was diagnosed with the deadly disease in 2005, continues to face its consequences.

"It's trauma, and any trauma resides within you," Minogue shared with CBS News, adding "The experience of a cancer diagnosis will live in me. It was difficult. It was also amazing."

The 55-year-old continued, "Amazing in that you are very aware of your body, of the love that's around you, of your capability, all sorts of things.”

How does Kylie Minogue handle cancer 'trauma'?

The ‘Tension’ crooner talked about how the experience still bothers her and what she does to get over it. "I sing to process everything, I think. I write to process. I perform to process. And sometimes I think I live to perform," she said.

In 2020, she told People in depth about her journey amid cancer, "It's like the earth had kind of slipped off its axis. You see everything differently, she remembered."

"I remember having had my diagnosis, but the world didn't know. I was with my brother and my boyfriend at the time — we were all in a daze and went to a cafe. The server at the cafe was like, 'Hey, how are you today?' We just kind of robotically said, 'Good, thanks,' and in that moment I just thought: You really don't know what anyone is going through," she added.

“I thought that same person by tomorrow is going to see the news and say, 'Oh my God, she was here yesterday, and we didn't know,'" she continued.

"It's a huge change, and it is before and after. Now with what's happening in the world, there's a lot of people talking about a new normal, but I think after cancer or any other big, life-changing incident or illness, you have to adapt," Minogue further said.

Kylie Minogue made a comeback with 'Padam Padam'

After her diagnosis in 2005, Minogue underwent a lumpectomy and chemotherapy. The following year she was declared cancer-free.

She made a comeback with the 'Padam Padam' single capturing the attention of people from all generations.

'Padam Padam' instantly became Minogue's highest-charting single in Australia in over a decade, making an impressive debut at No 39 in its first week, reports MEAWW.
