'I want to be murdered so badly': Elizabeth Banks desperate to be part of Mike White's 'The White Lotus'

LOS ANGELES, CALIFORNIA: Elizabeth Banks wants Mike White to get her in the latest edition of the hit series ‘The White Lotus.’

In her recent appearance on ‘Live with Kelly and Mark,’ the ‘Cocaine Bear’ star shared her eagerness. "I want to be murdered so badly. Kill me, please kill me," she shared her last conversation with the creator of the show, adding "I don't know how it happens. Tell him!"

Kelly Ripa, too, urged on Banks’ behalf and had a direct message for Mike, reports People. "Everybody knows that we're Mike White's favorite talk show. Mike White, please put your friend Elizabeth Banks in White Lotus season three or four. We'll take either one," said the co-host.

Excited Banks responded, "I'm writing you a check right now. I love it. Who doesn't want to go hang out in a hotel with all those fun people and solve a murder mystery?"

"Oh, my gosh. It sounds like they're in heaven! They're shooting a show but they're also in heaven while they're shooting a show. Seriously, it seems like a blast,” Ripa continued.

Actors express interest to be part of Mike White's series

Many top stars have openly expressed their interest to be part of White’s series. The list includes Jennifer Aniston, and Sheryl Lee Ralph, where the former told E! News that she would love to play Tanya McQuoid’s sister character in the show.

Sheryl, on the other hand, told the outlet, "Oh, honey, please. Call me, don't be afraid to just call me." The HBO hit show premiered in July 2021 and was instantly praised with each episode added to a huge fanbase.

In November 2022, it got the nod for the third season and Mike White has a clear blueprint for where he wants to take the latest edition. "The first season we highlighted money and then the second season is sex," he revealed in an HBO Max featurette.

"And I think the third season, it would be maybe a kind of satirical and funny look at death in Eastern religion and spirituality — it feels like it could be a rich tapestry to do another round at White Lotus," he added. As per Variety, the season will be shot in Thailand.
