LOS ANGELES, CALIFORNIA: Rapper Bow Wow, for the first time, gave a detailed version on his drug addiction back in 2007. He was so deep into it that he was even hospitalized at the time.

The ‘Let Me Hold You’ rapper admitted the extent of his drug addiction on the latest episode of the ‘Art of Dialogue’ podcast.

“I was on lean. I was sipping so much syrup. I was drinking that s**t like crazy,” Bow Wow said about ‘lean drug,’ which is a combination of promethazine and codeine cough syrup mixed with soda.

“I was losing my f****g mind. That lean s**t had me f****d up,” he said mostly irritated due to its consumption, reports PageSix.

Bow Wow reflected on the time he was rushed to hospital

The ‘Shortie Like Mine’ crooner collapsed on stage due to drug overdose and was rushed to the University of Cincinnati Medical Center at the time.

“My stomach was so f****d up that I ended up going back home to Atlanta after the first show,” the artist said, which got ‘worse’ due to withdrawal.

“I’m throwing up, I’m shivering in the bed, I’m sweating, I’m going through it. My stomach was so f****d up. I felt like someone just had a knife [in me]. … I never felt this type of pain in my life,” he added.

Bow Wow hid the real reason behind his 2007 onstage collapse

He continued, “[There] wasn’t no dehydration; I was f****d up off lean. We didn’t want the world to know,” Bow said on then-publicist Patti Webster media address that it was dehydration that caused the collapse in 2007.

The 36-year-old is no more addicted to it, and he shared about his problem in 2018 too, “To the youth — stop with these dumb ass drugs,” Bow Wow tweeted then.

“I’m going to let something out. When me and Omarion worked on 'FACE OFF' album, I was high off lean everyday! When y’all saw me on BET going off on Torae I was high off lean,” he said.

“My attitude, everything changed. My fans started to turn on me, my family too,” he added.
