NEW YORK CITY, NEW YORK: The December 26 episode of 'Good Morning America' had co-host Robin Roberts bring up the health battle of Shannen Doherty.

The 52-year-old actress had recently told People Magazine that her Stage 4 breast cancer has spread to her bones, shared Roberts, before calling upon correspondent Eva Pilgrim for more details.

Shannen Doherty has been very public about her cancer journey

"I am not afraid of dying. I just don't want to die," she told the publication.

Doherty was first diagnosed with breast cancer in 2015, stated the 'GMA' report, adding that she had to undergo chemotherapy, radiation, and a mastectomy.

A couple of years later, the 'Beverly Hills 90210' star shared that her cancer was in remission, but the situation soon took a turn for the worse.

In 2020, Doherty shared that her Stage 4 cancer had metastasized. Earlier in 2023, she further stated that the disease had spread to her brain and that she had to undergo surgery to remove a brain tumor.

"It was definitely one of the scariest things I've been through in my entire life," she told People.

"After surgery, I couldn't (even) hold a glass in my right hand… They put you on so many steroids to take down any brain swelling," the actress added.

Whatever may be the obstacles, Doherty has been clear that she still had the fight left in her.

"I'm not done with life, I'm not done with living, I'm not with loving, I'm not done with creating, I'm not done with, hopefully, changing things for the better. I'm just not done," she said.

The Christmas reflections of Shannen Doherty

In the latest episode of her podcast titled 'Let's Be Clear with Shannen Doherty', the actress shared that she was thankful for the support of her loved ones.

"I think this year is about just being incredibly grateful that we're here and that we get to spend time with the people that are by our sides through thick and thin," she said.

"(Who) don't walk away, love us unconditionally and have the same sort of beliefs and morals and standards and people that have character and I'm just so thankful, really, to be here for it," she added.

"And I even got to schedule my cancer infusions where I would be recovered completely from it for Christmas which is great," she further said.

For all her struggles, Doherty’s spirit remains strong and hopeful as she said, “For some reason, it just feels -- it's gotten a lot lighter lately and a lot more positive and the energy in my house is amazing and the people that I'm hanging out with are amazing and my heart is opening back up… Next year is gonna be beautiful.”
