Insider claims Kevin Costner has always been smitten with this Oscar-winning actress amid his high-profile GF hunt

LOS ANGELES, CALIFORNIA: Despite the fact that Kevin Costner and Jewel's rumored romance amounted to little more than a close friendship, many have questioned whether the 'Yellowstone' star would return to the A-list dating scene.

According to insiders, Costner might be considering a couple of A-list women for his next romantic endeavors, one of which is a recently single Oscar-winning actress that he has had his eye on for years.

As rumors surrounding Costner’s romance with Jewel fizzled out, a source recently told Life & Style Magazine that the actor was "actually quite excited to be free for the summer to date whoever he wants."

They added, "He had a great time with Jewel and isn’t ruling out seeing her again, but as far as it getting serious, he’s accepted that’s just not happening."

"There are so many gorgeous and eligible women in his circle catching his eye right now," continued the insider, referring to A-list stars like Sandra Bullock, Reese Witherspoon, and Angelina Jolie, as per SheKnows.

"They were off limits to him when he was married, and even in the past he avoided dating anyone in the industry because he worried it would lead to a conflict, but he’s thrown that old rule out and is seeing all the possibilities instead," further said the source. 

"He’s A-list, so there’s no reason he shouldn’t have an A-list girlfriend. Reese Witherspoon is single now and he’s always had a crush on her, there’s nothing to stop him from asking her out," claimed the insider. 

Witherspoon and Costner sparked dating rumors back in 2023, but their representatives firmly denied any such romantic involvement to E! News.

Having said that, they did not refute Costner's purported crush on her.

Nevertheless, it appears Costner is equally enamored with Jennifer Aniston, Bullock, and Jolie as he is with Witherspoon.

"He’s always been close to Jennifer Aniston, who adores him and would most likely go on a date with him in a heartbeat. There’s Sandra Bullock, who he’s known for years. And the same goes for Angelina Jolie, who he could easily get an intro to through his good buddy Billy Bob Thornton," added the source. 

The source maintained that while Costner is incredibly enthused about the thought of throwing himself into dating full force, he's not making any decisions or becoming fixated on any one woman at this time.

They shared, "He’s done holding himself back, he’s totally opened up to the idea of dating a fellow movie star, and everyone in his world is cheering him on."

As Costner completed the final touches on 'Horizon: An American Saga,' he had been mourning the breakdown of his nearly 20-year marriage to Christine Baumgartner.

The 69-year-old actor earlier discussed his dating preferences with Fox News, stating that he has been looking for "a person who wants to be loved, and they want to be, you know … feel like they’re at their very best."

He added, "And that love helps that and doesn't hinder it." 

Baumgartner, 50, filed for divorce from Costner in May 2023, and the two were embroiled in a contentious legal struggle for months, particularly over child support payments.

Costner's marriage to Baumgartner officially ended after their divorce was finalized on February 20 of this year.
