Internet amused as Johnny Depp pays emotional tribute at Shane MacGowan's funeral in 'fake Irish accent'
TIPPERARY, IRELAND: Johnny Depp left many amused as he delivered the Prayer of the Faithful while attending Shane MacGowan's funeral.
The 60-year-old read the prayer allegedly in an Irish accent, Daily Mail reported.
Depp was reportedly one among many famous faces who attended the funeral of the Pogues frontman.

Many hailed the actor for paying an emotional tribute to his pal but some commented on the way he spoke.

‘Shane will always be the light’
MacGowan died on November 30 and as per a statement issued at the time, “Shane died peacefully at 3 am this morning (30 November 2023) with his wife Victoria and family by his side."

Later, it was revealed that the singer was 65 and died from pneumonia.
His wife Victoria Mary Clarke said, as per The Independent, “Shane will always be the light that I hold before me and the measure of my dreams and the love of my life.”

Meanwhile, many fans paid their tribute to MacGowan following his death.
Speaking of the lead vocalist of the Pogues, the President of Sinn Fein, Mary Lou McDonald, reportedly said, “Shane was a poet, a dreamer, and a champion of social justice. He was a dedicated Republican and a proud Irishman.”
