SYDNEY, AUSTRALIA: 'White Lotus' star Jennifer Coolidge has recently sided with Taylor Swift and her boyfriend Travis Kelce over their visit to Sydney Zoo after animal rights organization PETA called out the A-listers for the same.

Before Swift's three concerts in Australia's largest city, the pop star and her NFL lover went on a date at the 16.5-hectare property last week. They were reportedly also seen patting a small kangaroo.

What did Jennifer Coolidge say about Taylor Swift and Travis Kelce's visit to Sydney zoo?

PETA earlier released a statement saying the couple should "spend their time and money at a true sanctuary" instead. After this, Jennifer Coolidge defended the couple's trip to the zoo, claiming they probably didn't put a lot of thought into the date and were just looking for something romantic to do.

The 62-year-old actress told TMZ, "I love Taylor and they seem like animal lovers so I can't condemn those guys. I love them."

She added, "I'm sure they didn't think about it much and were trying to do something romantic so I'm going to let them off the hook on it but I agree with PETA on everything."

Debbie Metzler, PETA Foundation's Director of Captive Animal Welfare, was far from impressed with the sighting of the 'You Belong with Me' singer and her boyfriend at the zoo.

In a shared statement, Metzler said, "While we understand all too well the appeal of seeing Australia's wildlife, PETA hopes that next time Taylor and Travis want to see wild animals, they'll spend their time and money at a true sanctuary."

The nonprofit organization went on to say that a sanctuary is a preferable option since it allows people to keep a respectful distance from the animals and does not allow them to be fed or handled. After performing to more than 600,000 fans in Melbourne and Sydney, Swift concluded the Australian phase of her Eras tour on Monday, February 26.

A record-breaking 96,000 fans attended each of her three nights in Melbourne, and an additional 83,000 Swifties attended each of her four gigs in Sydney. According to Daily Mail, the musical sensation made $25 million per Sydney event.

As thousands of local and interstate fans descended to the city for the year's biggest must-see event, Swift also contributed an astounding $145 million to the economy of New South Wales. The pop star will now head to Singapore for three concerts on March 2, 3 and 4.
