Internet backs Katie Britt as she says JD Vance will 'run circles' around VP Harris in debate
MILWAUKEE, WISCONSIN: Senator Katie Britt of Alabama told Fox News during an interview at the Republican National Convention in Milwaukee that Sen JD Vance, the Republican nominee for vice president, will "run circles" around Vice President Kamala Harris in a debate.
A promising Republican rookie, Britt gave the official Republican response to President Joe Biden's State of the Union speech earlier this year.
Before Vance's much-awaited convention speech on Wednesday night, July 17, Britt praised the man and said that people would "love" him the moment they met him.
Sen Katie Britt is excited to see Sen JD Vance debate VP Kamala Harris
"I am excited to watch him debate Kamala Harris because it will not even be a contest. With all due respect to the vice president, our next vice president of the United States, JD Vance, is going to run circles around her. No doubt," Britt said.
She added, "I am honored not only to call JD a colleague, but to call him a friend … The best part about it is we've gotten to know each other as people, and when the American people get to know JD Vance, they are going to love everything about him."
Senator Katie Britt narrates Sen JD Vance's life story of hardships
Katie Britt later said JD Vance's life story of pulling himself up by his bootstraps and pushing through "unimaginable" circumstances was part of why he is "uniquely suited to push forward President Trump's agenda of secure borders, safe streets, stable prices, and really showing strength across the globe."
She called the moment she saw Trump walk into the convention hall on Monday and stand next to Vance, his first public appearance since his failed assassination attempt over the weekend, "electric."
"It was amazing. I mean, you could feel the energy," Britt said. "Watching him walk in to "God Bless America," there was a peace and a hope and a resiliency that not only came from him, but I think radiated across the entire arena."
VP Kamala Harris calls Sen JD Vance to congratulate him
With Donald Trump announcing JD Vance as his running mate, Kamala Harris called Vance to congratulate him and hope the two could cross paths at a vice presidential debate that CBS News had suggested be held later.
In the past, Trump consented to participate in a Fox News vice presidential debate as the prospective running mate. The Biden campaign, however, is only open to holding the debate on CBS.
No vice presidential debate has been confirmed yet, but Biden and Trump agreed to two presidential debates. The first was hosted by CNN on June 27 and the second will be hosted by ABC News on September 10.
Internet says Sen JD Vance will 'out-debate' VP Kamala Harris
Netizens supported Katie Britt's remarks on JD Vance as many said the new Republican VP nominee can easily outshine Kamala Harris. This comes amid growing rumors that Joe Biden's deputy may replace him as the Democratic head before the 2024 Presidential election in November this year.
One X user tweeted, "Kamala's debate skills need serious astrology recalibration. Vance will definitely outshine her."
Another wrote, "Vance might be able to out-debate her, but let's be real, he's got a long way to go in terms of being an actual leader. Harris has more experience and accomplishments under her belt than most folks can say. Britt just trying to stir up some drama before the debate even starts."
"It won't be pretty for Kamala. She has no idea what's going on in the United States or anywhere else," added one while someone else remarked, "AND LIKE BIDEN THEY WILL GIVE HER THE QUESTIONS BEFORE A DEBATE."
