LOS ANGELES, CALIFORNIA: Comedian Pauly Shore recently revealed his emotional turmoil after fitness guru Richard Simmons disapproved of the biopic in which Shore is set to star.

The 'Encino Man' actor took to Instagram to express his disappointment and make a case for why he’s the perfect choice to portray Simmons on the big screen.

Pauly Shore's emotional turmoil after Richard Simmons' disapproval

Shore wrote a blog post sharing it on both X and Instagram, in which he detailed his feelings after getting snubbed by Simmons and urged him to at least hear the pitch.

"You guys, I was up all night crying regarding Richard Simmons’ tweet," Shore wrote, adding, "Richard, how do you not approve of this movie?"

"I mean, really, who’s better to play you in a movie than ME?” he asked. He further argued that neither Leonardo DiCaprio nor Brad Pitt would be suitable for the role, insisting that he and Simmons are alike, “beautiful, inside and out.”

"I’m perfect. Everyone already thinks I’m you. We’re the same," Shore added, as per the New York Post.

Pauly Shore urges Richard Simmons to hear the movie pitch

The comedian then urged Simmons to hear out the movie pitch before making a decision.

He offered to visit Simmons’ home with comfort food and have the writer, Jordan Allen-Dutton, present their idea.

"Richard, you haven’t even heard the pitch. Why don’t you simply let me come over to your house...rub your feet, and we can listen to the writer, Jordan Allen-Dutton, pitch you our idea?" he requested.

"I know you, Richard. We used to hang out back in the day. I’d always see you at The Comedy Store. You’re my old buddy," Shore insisted.

Richard Simmons’ disapproval and the Internet's reactions

Simmons, however, expressed his disapproval of the film on Twitter, stating that he’s in talks with major studios to create his own biopic.

He wrote, “I just read that a man I don’t know is writing my bio pic (sic) starring Pauly Shore. I do not approve this movie,” urging fans to wait for his work as he said he was in talks with some major studios to "create my own biopic."

Despite Simmons’ disapproval, the Internet has shown support for Shore. Many believe that Shore is the perfect fit to portray Simmons in a biopic.

"Richard is insane for not hearing your pitch. You’re the only and perfect fit to portray Richard in a bio picture," wrote an X user.

Some suggested that proceeds from the movie could go to Simmons’ favorite charity, while others expressed hope that Simmons would reconsider his stance.

"Maybe throw in some proceeds to Richard’s favorite charity? Make this movie happen," suggested one.

However, there were also voices of dissent, with some questioning Shore’s acting ability and others advising him to respect Simmons’ wishes.

"Real friends respect the other's feelings Pauly," wrote one on his Instagram post.

"Awwww Pauly I got so touched by your words. I hope Richard turns the corner on your pitch .. and btw you are beautiful inside and out," wrote another.

"Well if Pauly Shore doesn't play the part of Richard Simmons, Richard Simmons is making a mistake, you can always get what you want," wrote one more.

"What a disingenuous response. No wonder Richard doesn't want Pauly playing him. Beyond a physical resemblance, there's no way he could be Richard. Face it. Pauly is a particular kind of comedian. He is not an actor," opined another individual.

"Pauly, leave this man alone," suggested one more.
