DETROIT, MICHIGAN: President Joe Biden ripped the controversial Project 2025 as the "biggest threat" against the government system and personal freedoms of the United States, reported NBC News.

Speaking at a campaign rally in Detroit, Michigan, on Friday, July 12, the octogenarian made the "right-wing Project 2025," the plan put forth by the conservative Heritage Foundation, the focal point of his speech amidst a growing Democratic call for the suspension of his 2024 race.

The controversial proposal is a 900-page road map created by Donald Trump's allies for a potential second term of the MAGA spearhead. It includes dismantling a majority of the US government and substituting it with Trump loyalist federal workers, implementing abortion restrictions, and overtaking the tax code.

Joe Biden dubs Project 2025 as a Trump-backed agenda

"Folks, Project 2025 is the biggest attack on our system of government and on our personal freedom that's ever been proposed in the history of this country," Joe Biden said to his supporters, adding the plan is "a blueprint for a second Trump," which "is run and paid for by Trump people."

The 81-year-old, who looked more energetic than his usual self, especially after a pathetic debate performance last month, claimed the Heritage Foundation's roadmap would cause a "nightmare" in the US if Trump gets elected in November and executes it.

"Another four years of Donald Trump is deadly serious. Project 2025 is deadly serious," Biden continued.

However, earlier this month, Trump distanced himself from the proposal, denying any involvement. "I disagree with some of the things they're saying and some of the things they're saying are absolutely ridiculous and abysmal. Anything they do, I wish them luck, but I have nothing to do with them," he wrote on his Truth Social platform.

Biden had earlier linked his predecessor to Project 2025, claiming it gave the former president limitless power and enabled him to take "revenge" on his opponent if elected in November.

After failing the debate against Trump, which put his reelection bid at risk, the incumbent shifted his focus to the controversial proposal.

However, he remained adamant about continuing in the race despite growing concerns about his cognitive decline, which was evident when he fumbled multiple times during the debate in June.

Internet criticizes Joe Biden for ripping into Project 2025

Netizens deemed Joe Biden's latest attack on Project 2025 as "desperation" and pointed out that Donald Trump had nothing to do with the conservative think tank's proposal.

"The liberal meltdown is so fulfilling," a user commented on Facebook.

"When the desperation hits…" another user remarked.

Meanwhile, a user added, "To bad trump has nothing to do with it nor does he agree with it." [sic]

"Trump has nothing to do with it and has said so. The new Russia hoax is the Project 2025 scare tactic," read a response.

"Project 2025 literally came out of no where because they failed at every other attempt to get rid of Trump. And now it's the most serious issue in the world and it's all they can talk about. 'We got him this time,'" someone else chimed in.

"Fear mongering and lying the entire time as usual," one user wrote on X.

"The crazy part is Project 2025 has been around for a minute now. I can't even remember when I first started seeing it being talked about on TikTok. The fact that they're only talking about it now is giving big 'LOOK OVER THERE!!!' vibes," read another response.
