WASHINGTON, DC: President Joe Biden doubled on his insistence to continue in the race, arguing that no poll or person had told him he could not win in November after last month's presidential debate.

During a solo news conference following the NATO Summit in Washington DC on Thursday, July 11, the octogenarian was asked if he would reconsider his decision to stay in the race if his team showed the data that Vice President Kamala Harris was a better candidate to beat former President Donald Trump.

"No, unless they came back and said there's no way you can win," Biden responded, according to The Hill. After a brief pose, he whispered, "No one's saying that. No poll says that."

Harris's name emerged as a leading contender to replace the incumbent on the Democratic ticket after he performed poorly in the debate, prompting growing calls from Democratic elected officials and donors for him to step down.

Joe Biden says he is the 'best qualified' to win the election

Joe Biden reiterated his confidence in defeating his predecessor, claiming he had an easier chance to win than another candidate who would be required to begin from "scratch."

"I believe I'm the best qualified to govern, and I think I'm the best qualified to win," he asserted.

Concerns regarding the 83-year-old's cognitive decline resurfaced following the debate, forcing many to question whether he would be capable of being in the office for one more term.

However, the President defied all demands for his exit from over a dozen congressional Democrats vehemently attempting to reassure the panic-stricken party ahead of the Democratic National Convention in August.

Though Biden's position did not plummet in the polls after the debate, Trump made slight advancements, according to recent data.

Weighing in on trusting the accuracy of the polls, the President said to reporters that the campaign would heat up only after Labor Day, indicating the current polling was premature.

Democratic strategist David Axelrod disagreed with Biden on this, claiming that the President's campaign team was not honest with him about the data.

"If what he said at the end of his presser is true, it sounds like Biden's team has not been very candid with him about what the data is showing: the age issue is a huge and potentially insurmountable concern and his odds of victory are very, very slim," he wrote on X (formerly Twitter).

Internet dissents from Joe Biden's claim that no poll or person was indicating he couldn't win

Outraged at Joe Biden's confidence, netizens disagreed with his claim that no poll was suggesting his defeat. Many pointed out that the majority of the polls were not in the President's favor after the debate.

"That sounds like he is in a disinformational bubble," a user said. [sic]

"He means that no person on his team is honest or candid enough to give him the unvarnished truth, which is that he can’t win," another remarked.

"Every poll says that. Are they keeping him in a bunker?" Asked a user.

"Delusional is an understatement," read a response.

"Biden is literally delusional. Trump is leading in damn near every single poll lmao," another person said.

"Polls don't vote and only those who have landline phones are polled. Most with landline phones are elderly and vote maga," someone else chimed in. [sic]

"This further proves he is ignoring the facts not realizing he is not the only qualified candidate for the job," an individual opined.

"Well, he might want to talk to the 85% of the electorate who perhaps might disagree because right now polls show that an overwhelming majority of the country does not want a Second Biden Term. I'd hate to be the one who told you so Mr. President come election night!" Another user added.
