Internet calls Kim Kardashian 'desperate' after she asks for $70K for her 'dirty' white Hermes Birkin bag

LOS ANGELES, CALIFORNIA: Kim Kardashian has been facing criticism online for putting a "dirty" Hermes Birkin bag on her family's online marketplace for resale, the Kardashian Kloset website.

The 43-year-old SKIMS founder, who owns several rare Hermes purses, is requesting $70K for the rare gray matte alligator purse, which was described as being in "good condition."

There was, however, "some discoloration on handles and underside bottom corners, and minor scratching on metal," according to the handbag's description on the website.

The description further notes that the bag is missing its CITES certificate, which is required if one intends to travel with an item or bag made of exotic leather, such as alligator.

However, considering similar bags in new condition can be obtained for $120,000, the $70K price tag might not be the worst value, as per Daily Mail.

The Birkin bag has been named in honor of the late English songstress Jane Birkin, who shot to global fame as the inspiration of French singer-songwriter Serge Gainsbourg.

Given that the bag's handles were visibly turning brown, Reddit users were unable to comprehend why Kardashian was selling it for so much money.

One user exclaimed, "Seriously how desperate are they for money? And why does no one find it strange that these 'billionaires' are selling their second hand clothes?"

A second one said, "This is so embarrassing. Why don't they get it restored by H before selling it?"

The mother-of-four has several of her opulent bags posted on the resale website. Earlier this month, she flaunted her purse collection in her handbag closet inside her $60 million Hidden Hills, California, property.

The SKIMS founder had also put up a peacock blue Porosus Crocodile Birkin bag from her "coveted collection" for an incredible $49,995.00 earlier this month.

The designer tote included "palladium hardware and double handles" with a "twist lock and lock & key closure," as per the website. According to the listing, the Birkin bag was in "good condition" with some minor stains.

The 'Kardashians' star also listed additional Louis Vuitton duffle bags, Chanel accessories, and two more Birkins for sale.

Kim was spotted wearing her enormously expensive Hermes Birkin 50 HAC Gris Tourterelle Shiny Porosous Crocodile bag in November 2023. Jane Finds estimates its price at an astounding $110,000.

Kim reportedly carried the "world's most expensive handbag" to a soccer match in Japan in July 2023. It was a Hermes Himalaya Niloticus Crocodile Diamond Birkin handbag that retails for over $100,000 (and is estimated to be worth $380,000).

She was also spotted in 2020 carrying her personalized Hermes Birkin tote, which included a 2013 Christmas gift from her now ex-husband, 46-year-old Kanye West, that had a nude artwork by famous modern artist George Condo.
