NEW YORK CITY, NEW YORK: MSNBC news anchor Jen Psaki had multiple guests over to discuss Donald Trump. Before the interview, the host criticized the former president for the event on January 5, 2024, a day before the third anniversary of the January 6 Capitol attack.

In her remarks against the former president, Psaki noted that Trump is “not running from the insurrection” but instead, is “embracing it.” Following this brief segment, viewers weighed in on the claims made by Psaki and took to X, formerly known as Twitter, to express their opinions on them.

Jen Psaki talks about Donald Trump’s ‘unprecedented actions’

Jen Psaki started her segment on Donald Trump and said, “Okay, I believe that sometimes we just need to acknowledge how insane this moment we’re living in really is. Think about this, Friday was, of course, January 5, one day before the 3rd anniversary of the January 6 insurrection incited by the former President.”

She continued, “It was also the same day as a major speech by the sitting President about the dangers the former President still poses to the democracy, and then, on that same day, the United States Supreme Court announced it will hear a case on whether that former President can even be on the ballot, because of his role in the insurrection, all in one day.”

“It’s also important to not lose sight of how we arrived at this moment and why we arrived at this moment. The Supreme Court is taking this unprecedented case because of the unprecedented actions of Donald Trump, that’s why,” said Psaki.

She asked, “ Even if the justices do leave Donald Trump on the ballot, his position as the pro-insurrection candidate isn't really in doubt, is it?”

During the segment, the MSNBC anchor said that Trump “is not running from the insurrection, he’s embracing it.”

Jen Psaki faces backlash on social media

One social media user wrote, “You got nothing else to run on," while another said, "Jen is a proven liar and fraud against the American people!"

"We need Trump not Biden," wrote one user, and another wrote, "False narrative. A norm for Jen."
