LOS ANGELES, CALIFORNIA: YouTuber Trisha Paytas is getting hailed for her candid confession that she purchases music directly instead of paying for music streaming services.

During an interview with Zach Sang in his eponymous show on YouTube, the 35-year-old mother-of-one showed her allegiance to the musicians and said that she likes to support artists like The Weeknd directly by buying their songs individually.



 

Giving the reason for her decision to buy music, Paytas said, “I like to support Abel. I buy all my favorite The Weeknd songs. I bought like 10 of them and I just replay them.”

Fans were in awe of Trisha Paytas' candid confession as they hailed her for being "real".

One of the fans praised her, "She’s kinda real for that actually."



 

Someone else added, "Oh anti-capitalism paytas dont make that serve."



 

Another fan showed their support and said, "This is actually what I do. I buy on iTunes primarily for all the artists I love."

'I'm definitely going to always say the idol is based on my life'

Elsewhere in the interview, Paytas voiced her love for music videos while making her preference for the Canadian singer The Weeknd's music videos. She said, "The music video sells it for me."

Paytas also shared that The Weeknd is the only artist she is listening to now. She also propagated the theory that Lily-Rose Depp starrer 'The Idol' is actually based on her life. 

Stating that Troye Sivan's character Xander is "literally" her music producer Jeremy Thurber, she added, "They look identical to each other."

She continued, "I think they based 'The Idol' off my life because 'World class sinner' sounds like 'Freaky' where she's like 'I'm just a freak' yeah."

Comparing her song 'Freaky' with the song from 'The Idol', the songstress said they sound similar. On the other hand, she also propounded the theory that Sivan's Xander and her producer are "identical."

She concluded the segment by saying, "I'm definitely going to always say 'The Idol' is based on my life."
