PALM BEACH, FLORIDA: After the excitement of election night, it appears that Tesla CEO and X founder Elon Musk is lingering at Mar-a-Lago where he has reportedly spent most of his days since Donald Trump's recent win.

Multiple reports have indicated that Musk has been a frequent presence at Donald Trump’s Florida resort, drawing attention as he spends considerable time with the president-elect.

Kaitlan Collins opens up on Elon Musk’s influence at Mar-a-Lago

Elon Musk appeared in Donald Trump's family photo on election night and was even spotted dining with future first lady Melania Trump. He also played golf with the Trump family over the weekend.

CNN anchor Kaitlan Collins shared additional insights on Musk’s time at Mar-a-Lago. "Dining with him on the patio at times, today they were seen on the golf course together,” she said during a broadcast on Sunday, November 10, Daily Beast reported.

The ABC News also reported on Musk's presence at Mar-a-Lago.

"Musk has been in the room when world leaders have called, and tonight we have learned he’s also weighing in on staffing decisions, making clear his preference for certain roles even," Collins declared, citing sources.

Despite his involvement, Musk is reportedly not expected to take on any formal role within Trump’s administration due to potential conflicts with his companies.

However, Collins said, “What’s becoming clearer tonight is that he doesn’t really need to.” She continued, “One source told me, Elon Musk is having just as much influence from the outside.”

Elon Musk described as the 'guest who wouldn’t leave'

Commentators have observed that Elon Musk's continuous presence at the resort seems unsettling for some members of Donald Trump's transition team.

They have already started regarding the tech mogul as the "guest who wouldn't leave" following the festivities, Daily Beast reported.

Tech journalist Kara Swisher also commented on Elon Musk’s persistent presence, saying that Donald Trump’s team members may be feeling uneasy about his extended stay.

Swisher said, “He definitely inserts himself all the time, that’s his style."

She shared that some Trump associates have reached out to her, saying, “Oh, wow. This is odd.”

Swisher added, “And it is,” noting Musk’s unusual level of involvement in post-election activities.

Internet reacts to Elon Musk’s Mar-a-Lago stay

Elon Musk’s ongoing presence at Mar-a-Lago has sparked mixed reactions.

One user on X expressed frustration with those criticizing Musk’s actions, writing, “Dems seem to be awfully jealous that elon chose trump over them. Well guess what??? So did the American people!!!”

Another commenter, concerned about the implications of Musk’s influence, said, “Folks, Musk is not elected nor approved by our Senate & House. You are watching your democracy die and he hasn’t even taken office yet.”

Others shared humorous takes, with one writing, “So, Elon is the 47th President of the United States. Got it.”

Another user expressed concern, saying, “This is exactly what oligarchy is.”

“Without a doubt everything Musk suggests will favor him and his companies," wrote another.

In contrast, a supporter said, “Elon Musk is a genius. I’d have him around as much as I possibly could too.”
