‘Blessings to you both’: Internet congratulates Brittney Griner and wife Cherelle after couple announces first pregnancy
LOS ANGELES, CALIFORNIA: Brittney Griner and Cherelle Griner are going to be parents soon. The WNBA star and her wife announced the good news through a joint post on Instagram on Saturday, April 13.
“Can’t believe we’re less than three months away from meeting our favorite human being 🤍 #BabyGrinerComingSoon #July2024,” they captioned while sharing a photo holding hands.

When did Brittney Griner and Cherelle Griner first meet?
The snap also shows an ultrasound of their child in the background.
The couple tied the knot in June 2019. Brittney and Cherelle met each other in Baylor University back in 2009.
The couple suffered a major setback after Brittney was arrested in Russia for drug charges. She was supposed to play an off-season game there.
After spending months in a Russian prison, she was sentenced to nine years behind bars.

In one of the interviews during that time, Cherelle shared, I'm like, in no world would I ever [have] thought, you know, our president and a foreign nation's president would be sitting down having to discuss the freedom of my wife."
She added, “It terrifies me, because when you watch movies, sometimes those situations don't end well. Sometimes they never get their person back.”
Fortunately, Brittney was released from prison in December 2022.
In her recent interview with People, Cherelle said, “It's unfortunate that those 10 months happened without us being able to be side-by-side."
"But it happened, and we're embracing the fact that we now get to learn each other's story through that time."
