LOS ANGELES, CALIFORNIA: Whether Taylor Swift was inspired to write her song 'When Emma Falls in Love' by her friend and actress Emma Stone is up for debate.

The song was composed during the 2010 'Speak Now' sessions, but it was not released until this past July when she re-recorded the album, 'Speak Now (Taylor's Version)', with the single.

'When Emma Falls in Love' may be about Emma Stone's ex- Andrew Garfield

Among the six songs From The Vault in 'Speak Now (Taylor's Version)', the previously unheard song has sparked rumors that may actually be about Stone and her ex-boyfriend Andrew Garfield. These rumors first surfaced during the summer.

During the 'Poor Things' premiere, which took place on Wednesday, December 6, at the DGA Theater in New York City, Emma Stone was confronted about the topic by an Entertainment Tonight reporter, Rachel Smith, who asked her "whether or not Emma Falls in Love is about you."

She further asked, "So, is it true? Is it about you or is it not? How flattered would you be if Taylor Swift wrote a song about you?"

"Oh," said Stone, 35, taking a moment to reflect before answering, "You'd need to ask her."

Stone would laugh it off and acted coy once more as the reporter said that the singer "may be here tonight" at the premiere of Stone's new black comedy, 'Poor Things'.

Fans intrigued by Emma Stone's answer about Taylor's Swift song

The singer-songwriter of 'Midnights' was present at the event, but she opted to skip the red carpet festivities and instead focused on watching the film.

However, the internet was left more curious after watching Emma's reply to the rumor. One of the users penned, "Lol she’s determined to spill no tea."

A different user chimed, "She said I’m no damn tea pot. I’m a kettle," and another person wrote, "Damn that was awkward."

A fourth person criticized the report, noting, "Emma looks so uncomfortable and reporter's way of putting the sentence together is also making me uncomfortable."

One person also gushed, "Love emma so much (and we all know it's about u bff).

Another person speculated, "That's a yes. My two favorite people as best friends. I love it sm." "Emma you is muh lub," concurred yet another person.

The 'Lover' singer was spotted with Searchlight Pictures President David Greenbaum, dressed elegantly in black, with a long black coat over her outfit.

At some point during the premiere, when Stone had changed from a bright yellow dress into an off-white spaghetti-strap piece, the two ladies posed for a few pictures together, as reported by Daily Mail.

Five months after the pop sensation released her third re-recording, which features 'When Emma Falls in Love', all the excitement surrounding the event was unveiled.

The song's lyrics have prompted many fans to theorize that they are about Stone and Spider-Man actor Andrew Garfield, who first dated in 2010 (the year the song was written).
