Internet dismisses Melissa Etheridge’s ‘worry’ that Travis Kelce will retire early for Taylor Swift
LOS ANGELES, CALIFORNIA: Taylor Swift and Travis Kelce are currently the 'It' couple. People have been commenting on the romance between the pop artist and the Kansas City Chiefs tight end since they went public with their relationship.
Melissa Etheridge is among the latest celebrities to voice their opinions as she addressed what "worries" her about the current 'It' couple.
Melissa Etheridge is 'worried' Travis Kelce 'gonna retire early to be with' Taylor Swift
In a recent interview on 'Max's Who's Talking to Chris Wallace?', the Grammy-winning singer expressed her love for Kelce and Swift's relationship, while quipping that she hoped Kelce would not quit the NFL for Swift anytime soon.
Despite her admiration for Taylor Swift, 34, Etheridge, 62, said "All those guys are way too professional, as she is, to let anything be a distraction."

"I love that she loves one of my favorite football players, Travis Kelce. He's an amazing human being, and I think they're a great couple," added the Kansas City native.
According to the 'Come to My Window' singer, it is "attractive" to witness two people with "power" in their culture come together. "I think it's fantastic. I love it," she expressed.
While joking that she hopes Kelce won't shortly retire from the NFL so he can spend more time with Swift, Etheridge said: "I'm just worried he's gonna retire early to be with her. That's the thing I'm worried about," per PEOPLE Magazine.
Luckily for Etheridge, it does not appear that the 34-year-old Kelce will be retiring anytime soon. The tight end made it clear at a press conference on January 11 that he had "no reason to stop playing football" and "no desire to stop anytime soon".
Kelce has made it apparent that the big game is his primary focus as he prepares for the Chiefs' upcoming game against the San Francisco 49ers at Super Bowl LVIII on February 11.
In a recent interview with 'The Pat McAfee Show,' he further revealed that he will not be joining Swift at the 2024 Grammy Awards on Sunday, February 4.
Internet reacts to Melissa Etheridge's assumptions
Fans and followers flocked to the social media platform Facebook to provide their views and opinions on Melissa Etheridge's assumptions about the adored couple.
One such user dissed the possibility and said, "Not For Long. Anyone smart doesn’t stay in the NFL forever, otherwise they retire with a broken up body. He could very well do something else to continue his career."
A second user questioned, "Why? Why does one post this stupid crap. What difference does it make what this couple does? And Melissa etheridge? She must have more important topics to talk about. Geesh."
"So what if he does," asked a third one, while a fourth one added, "Who would blame him."
One more echoed a similar sentiment and asked, "He is going to be with her either way. So what does it matter?"
Another one explained in part: "Probably, he doesn’t want to be a kept man! Like a stay home husband. He is to egocentric for that role. I just think that at some point this crush! This love story will become more grounded after nfl season is over! It’s the hype of the game that keeps the excitement in this new relationship."
"I think they will support each other in both their dreams," chimed in another one.
One more quipped, "No. She is on tour. Then she will be with him, write an album, have a cute kid and then Travis might retire… for her next tour!!"
"Why is it any of her business? He’s been in for several years. NFL players suffer from all kinds of medical problems after they retire. It’s a brutal occupation. He’s a rich man already. This may be his last year. He can make a good living as a pitch man. I don’t know if his relationship with Taylor results in marriage but it’s certainly a possibility," clarified one more.
