Internet divided as Ginuwine doesn't remember Justin Timberlake encounter stated in Britney Spears memoir

LOS ANGELES, CALIFORNIA: Ginuwine’s recent remark over a claim made by Britney Spears in her memoir has attracted mixed reactions online.

Spears in her book — ‘The Woman in Me’ — has mentioned an incident when she and her ex-beau Justin Timberlake met Ginuwine.

The ‘Toxic’ singer claimed that at the time, Timberlake used to try "too hard" to be cool around Black musicians, OK! Magazine reported. She reportedly wrote, “J got all excited and said, so loud, ‘Oh yeah, fo shiz, fo shiz! Ginuwiiiine! What’s up, homie.’”

But recently when Ginuwine was asked about the alleged encounter, he told PEOPLE, “Yeah, yeah, I definitely heard about it. People were calling about that.”

The 53-year-old R&B singer further stated, “But I can tell you I don't remember that happening. I truly don't remember that happening.”

“If Justin would've done something like that, I probably would've looked at him like, ‘Why are you acting like that?’ If he did that, that would be something that I would remember. That would've definitely stuck out. So nah, I don't remember that happening,” he added.

Ginuwine’s statement left people divided, with some saying Spears lied while some claimed otherwise.

A user tweeted, “1. Ginuwine was a raving drug addict at the time - it comes as no surprise that he wouldn't remember every single detail of his drug-infused past. there was a fourth person present however, and there would be absolutely no point in making this up. the incident gained viral attention because everyone could easily imagine Justin engaging in the claimed behavior. 2. ‘another’ musician? well, who was the first?”

 

 

The second user differed saying, “Britney Spears was on crack yet when a black man contradicts what she says he’s the one to be wrong and not her. Stop your racist remarks.”

The third user shared, “Britney is going through a very serious medication and drug addiction at the time. Take a look at her latest videos from this week and how she’s not able to not even manage herself.”

The fifth one commented, “Ginuwine sparing him further embarrassment is so kind 😇.”

A tweet read, “Britney lied again about jt another lie over over it is sad she needs help. am on jt side I'm proud of jt ignoring all the drama that comes with Britney book focusing on his career and family i love that.”
