Internet divided as Ken Buck slams Lauren Boebert's claims that he's resigning to undermine her election bid
WASHINGTON, DC: Ken Buck vehemently refuted allegations suggesting his decision to resign from the House of Representatives before the completion of his term ends was to hinder Rep Lauren Boebert's election prospects in Colorado's 4th Congressional District, as reported by The Colorado Sun.
The lawyer and politician, who has represented the state's 4th Congressional District since 2015, announced his resignation from Congress on March 12. Buck cited the rising political polarization in the GOP-led House as the reason for resigning before the end of his term, as per CBS News.
Boebert, in December 2023, apparently swapped her seat from her current 3rd district to the more conservative 4th for the 2024 election due to her decreasing popularity in the former.

Ken Buck says Lauren Boebert's claims are 'fundamentally unfair'
Speaking to The Colorado Sun, Buck outrightly called the accusations against him "ridiculous."
Responding to his resignation, Boebert, through a written statement, had said that his decision was a "gift to the uniparty" and "a swampy backroom deal to try to rig an election." She also attempted to fundraise off her claims against the incumbent, urging supporters not to "let the uniparty rig this race."
Buck slammed the fellow Congresswoman's move, labeling it "fundamentally unfair."
Talking to the outlet, he said, "I'm not giving anybody an advantage or disadvantage," highlighting his earlier refusal to comment on the arrest of Boebert's 18-year-old son and her ex-husband.
Buck added, "I have done my very best to stay out of this primary election."

Bucks' resignation reduced the already narrow Republican majority in the lower chamber. However, he justified his choice to step down months before the end of his term, citing his increasing frustration with Congress, and to address election reforms to improve the quality of candidates vying for political office.
"I want to be a voice for change in our system," said Buck, whose resignation will become effective on March 22.
Boebert announced she would not run in the special election to fill the seat until November.
