WASHINGTON, DC: Former Representative George Santos says he's too busy to return to politics because he wants to be a reality TV star and is working on a documentary film.

He told City & State, "I’m working on a movie – a documentary – and also a reality TV show. So there’s just so many things that I’m working on now that I prefer to engage in instead of going into a messy primary to take on [Democratic Rep] Tom Suozzi."

After Santos became the sixth member of Congress to be expelled, Suozzi won a special election last month to fill the balance of Santos' term representing New York's 3rd Congressional District, which includes parts of northern Queens and suburban Nassau County.

In the general election scheduled for November, the seat is once more up for grabs. Santos was ousted from Congress with the support of a large portion of his party following a damning report from the House Committee on Ethics that claimed he had lied to funders and 'blatantly stolen from his campaign'.

Santos was under criticism for a long time after it turned out in late 2022 that he had made up a significant portion of his past. In addition, he was charged with an approximately 23-count indictment last year for aggravated identity theft, wire fraud, making materially false statements to the Federal Bureau of Investigations, and other offenses.

Despite his incapacity to maintain authenticity, sources claim that Santos' decision to go to reality TV has always appeared like a wise one. Comedian John Oliver said on 'Last Week Tonight' on HBO not long after Santos' dismissal was revealed, "The truth is, this man never belonged in Congress; he belongs on Bravo."

In a December interview with The Post, casting director and former MTV reality star Jason Cornwell said, "I would be surprised if [Santos] wasn’t already in talks about something. Somebody’s gonna grab him and lock him into a contract and then figure it out from there."

Internet trolls George Santos after he reveals reality TV star dreams

People simply mocked George Santos on social media platform X after he revealed that he wanted to become a reality TV star.

A user posted, "He literally looks like a character from the Big Bang theory."

Another added, "He is a terrible person but a fantastic troll."

One user said, "Are you saying he's lying about the reality show?"

Another stated, "I’m still trying to figure out how he’s different from the rest of Washington."

A person also wrote, "Not gonna lie, I'd watch."
