‘This is gonna BLOW’: Internet goes wild as fans believe ‘leaked’ Taylor Swift album is about Matty Healy

LOS ANGELES, CALIFORNIA: The internet is buzzing with speculation after the alleged 'leak' of Taylor Swift’s latest album ‘The Tortured Poets Department.’

The album, reportedly leaked hours before its official release, has left fans in a frenzy as it appears to "heavily refer" to Swift’s ex-boyfriend Matty Healy.

Is Taylor Swift's new album about Matty Healy?

Taylor Swift’s quick and intense relationship with the lead singer of 'The 1975' came right after her split from Joe Alwyn in February 2023.

Even though they got romantically involved in 2023, Swift reportedly met Healy on November 19, 2014, after she attended his concert with Selena Gomez and Ellie Goulding.

She then posted photos from the concert along with the caption, "Yeah you wanna find love, Then you know where the city is,” lyrics from one of 'The 1975’s songs, 'The City.'

On November 29, 2014, Matty said he “wouldn’t say no” to dating Taylor Swift after a radio DJ asked him about their relationship and Taylor’s appearance at his concert.

“Let’s just see what happens,” Matty said, as per E! News. “I mean bloody hell, what am I going to do? Go out with Taylor Swift? She’s a sensation,” he added.

The rumors first began to pour in when Swift attended another concert of Healy with Karlie Kloss on December 4, 2014, as reported by Life&Style. She, however, denied the rumors in 2015. 

This new romance surprised everyone in the entertainment industry. Despite the brevity of their romance, fans are shocked to hear Healy allegedly feature "so prominently" in the album.

While some fans have written off the leak as fabricated, others believe the songs provide an early glimpse into the official album.

An online zip file containing the same number of tracks as Swift's confirmed song list for her forthcoming album has intensified the speculation, Daily Mail noted. 

The 'Tortured Poets Department': A redemption album for Matty Healy?

Fans’ reactions to Healy’s mention in the ‘The Tortured Poets Department’ have been varied and passionate.

“'The Tortured Poets Department' being about Matty Healy and not Joe Alwyn is the gag of the century,” wrote one fan.

Another fan noted, “The tortured poets department? more like the Matty Healy redemption album.”

Yet another fan expressed surprise, saying, “Wait people are surprised the album is about Matty Healy? I thought that was a given with a name like the tortured poets department.”

Taylor Swift’s album set to blow

The album has already made history with Spotify announcing that the 'THE TORTURED POETS DEPARTMENT’ has become the most pre-saved album Countdown Page in Spotify history.

As fans continue to debate the authenticity of the leak and the true subject of the album, one thing is clear - ‘The Tortured Poets Department’ is set to blow.

As one fan put it, "Streets Saying Tortured Poets Department is all about Matty Healy. holy f**k lmao this is gonna BLOW."

There were questions too with fans 'losing' their mind over Matty Healy's mention. 

As one wrote, "Why is the tortured poets department about Matty Healy this was NOT anywhere near any of my theories I'm losing my mind."
