NEW YORK CITY, NEW YORK: On April 8, 'The Daily Show' host Jon Stewart sharply criticized the Joe Biden administration for what he perceived as a lack of courage in denouncing Israel's actions, including bombing civilians in Gaza, cracking down on journalists, and seizing land in the West Bank.

During his show, Stewart aired several clips of Biden administration officials, including Secretary of State Antony Blinken and White House press secretary Karine Jean-Pierre.

The clips showed them condemning Russia for actions such as "weaponizing food" against Ukraine, land seizures, and targeting journalists

The host then contrasted the clip with a series of clips showing Biden administration officials refusing to condemn Israel for similar actions in Gaza.

“More journalists have been killed in Gaza in six months than anywhere else in the world and a new Israeli law says they can ban media outlets they consider a threat,” Stewart said.

After showing a small clip, he added, “How about, ‘If it’s true, we condemn it?' And by the way, is it true? Feels like you could probably just call someone and be like, ‘Is this true?'”

"And if they're like, yeah, it's true, you could be like, that's concerning. Not condemning, but concerning," he continued.

Moving forward, after airing a clip of Blinken claiming ignorance about the recent Israeli seizure of land in the West Bank, Stewart exclaimed, "You don’t know about it? They did it the day you f**king visited! Why do we tiptoe around on eggshells?!"

"They slap America in the face and our response is, ‘Well, if anyone slapped us in the face, it would be concerning,"' Stewart continued.

He further added, “The verbal gymnastics that the American government must undertake so as not to offend the delicate sensibilities of a country we provide most of the weapons for is [screams]. Every time America tells the world that there’s something we won’t allow, Israel seems to say, ‘Challenge accepted.’ Are they wilfully trying to provoke us?”

"Or perhaps they're just reading our principles from right to left," the host said while concluding his monologue on the issue.
