PALM BEACH, FLORIDA: In an interview with conservative radio host Hugh Hewitt, that aired on Thursday, April 4, former President Donald Trump maintained his position on the ongoing war between Israel and Hamas.

The 77-year-old MAGA strongman urged Israel to bring the conflict to an immediate resolution, saying, "Get it over with."

He also expressed concern that Israel is “absolutely losing the PR war” and called for a decisive end to the bloodshed.

What did Donald Trump say about Israel’s conflict with Hamas?

“Get it over with and let’s get back to peace and stop killing people. And that’s a very simple statement,” the former POTUS asserted. “They have to get it done. Get it over with and get it over with fast because we have to -- you have to get back to normalcy and peace.”

The 2024 presumptive GOP nominee has voiced his dissatisfaction with President Joe Biden's support for Israel and has also expressed doubt about the tactics of the Israeli military, as the number of civilian casualties in Gaza continues to rise, according to the Associated Press.

Following an attack by Hamas militants on October 7, 2023, the Israeli military has subjected the territory to sustained bombardment, creating a significant humanitarian crisis resulting in the deaths of over 30,000 Palestinians, according to the Gaza Health Ministry.

“I’m not sure that I’m loving the way they’re doing it, because you’ve got to have victory. You have to have a victory, and it’s taking a long time,” Trump argued.

Throughout the course of the bloody conflict, Israel has been releasing videos of its airstrikes and other attacks on what it calls "terrorist infrastructure."

However, former President Donald Trump has criticized Israel's decision to release footage of its offensive actions.

“They shouldn’t be releasing tapes like that,” Trump said. “That’s why they’re losing the PR war. They, Israel is absolutely losing the PR war.”

He continued, “They’re releasing the most heinous, most horrible tapes of buildings falling down. And people are imagining there’s a lot of people in those buildings, or people in those buildings, and they don’t like it.”

“They’re losing the PR war. They’re losing it big. But they’ve got to finish what they started, and they’ve got to finish it fast, and we have to get on with life,” he added.

Former President Trump has frequently touted himself as the most pro-Israel president in United States history.

One of the main examples of this support was his decision to move the US Embassy to Jerusalem.

However, his relationship with Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu was tense throughout.

Despite being close allies for years, their relationship soured after Netanyahu congratulated President-elect Joe Biden on his 2020 election victory while Trump was still contesting the results.

Author Barak Ravid claims while interviewing Donald Trump for his book 'Trump’s Peace: The Abraham Accords and the Reshaping of the Middle East', the former president used an expletive to describe Netanyahu and accused him of disloyalty.

Trump also stated that he believed Netanyahu was never truly interested in achieving peace in the region.

After Hamas attacked Israel in 2023, Trump received criticism from some of his fellow Republicans for lashing out at Netanyahu.

He claimed that Israeli leaders needed to "step up their game" and that Netanyahu “was not prepared” for the deadly intrusion that killed approximately 1,200 people, with more than 250 being taken hostage.

At the time, Trump expressed his support for the country's efforts to "crush" Hamas.

Moreover, last month, Trump came under heavy scrutiny from a few in Israel for calling for a swift end to the war in an interview with the Israeli newspaper Israel Hayom.

The former POTUS cautioned, “I will say Israel has to be very careful because you are losing a lot of the world. You are losing a lot of support.”
