Harry Styles's alleged stalker accused of sending him 8,000 letters in a month

Myra Carvalho, a 35-year-old woman from Brazil, appeared in court after being charged with stalking Harry Styles by reportedly sending him 8,000 letters in less than a month, Sky News reports.

Carvalho allegedly sent handwritten letters to the 'Sign of the Times' singer while in the UK and also ordered a series of cards online, which were addressed to him, as reported by Sky News. The Harrow Crown Court was informed about these actions.

Court documents revealed that Carvalho had been staying at a backpacker hostel in Earls Court, west London, since December. Prosecutors allege that among the 8,000 cards sent, some were wedding cards, with two letters reportedly hand-delivered to Styles’ address.

Carvalho's family was unaware of her travels to the UK, the court was told. During the brief hearing, Carvalho appeared via video link from HMP Bronzefield, dressed in a black coat and gloves, only confirming her name and not indicating a plea.

Judge Karim Ezzat has referred her case to be heard at the same court on April 19, and she has been remanded in custody.

This is not the first time Carvalho has faced court proceedings related to allegedly stalking Styles. In January, Carvalho was charged with stalking Styles and causing him “serious alarm or distress,” the Evening Standard reports.

Carvalho appeared before a UK magistrates court following an alleged incident in London in January. While precise details were not disclosed, the alleged stalking was deemed to have had “a substantial adverse effect on [Styles’] usual day-to-day activities,” according to the charge.

The report further stated that Carvalho was accused of “stalking involving serious alarm or distress.”
