Internet in splits seeing Sebastian Stan impersonating Donald Trump for 'The Apprentice': 'The resemblance is obvious'

LOS ANGELES, CALIFORNIA: Less than a week after news broke that Sebastian Stan would be playing the role of former president Donald Trump in the upcoming film ‘The Apprentice’, a few on-set images of the ‘Winter Soldier’ star impersonating the business magnate have gone viral.

Per the photos obtained by Page Six, Stan could be seen acing the appearance of the 77-year-old politician from when he was younger.

Wearing a black wool coat paired with a blue suit and paisley-striped tie underneath, the ‘Pam & Tommy’ star rocked the look of a young Trump complete with his side-parted sandy blonde hair.

While few photos show the Marvel actor’s close-up as Trump, in some other photos, Stan was seen munching a sandwich while sitting on a park bench. 

The photos were taken while shooting for the film was in progress in Toronto on December 4.

On November 29, Deadline reported that Sebastian Stan has been roped in to play young Donald Trump in the Cannes prize-winning Iranian filmmaker Ali Abbasi directorial film ‘The Apprentice'.

The film also stars Emmy and Golden Globe winner Jeremy Strong of ‘Succession’ fame in the role of attorney Roy Cohn.

Oscar nominee Maria Bakalova of ‘Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3’ has been signed in to play Trump’s first wife, Ivana Trump.

The film is set to explore the ambition and grit of the 45th President of the United States of America as he made his way into the real estate business in New York in the 1970s and 1980s. The film will also explore his relationship with the attorney Roy Cohn.

Per Deadline, it is a mentor-protege story that will chronicle the beginning of a major American business dynasty.

The netizens were divided in their opinions as the first image of the actor portraying Donald Trump made its way onto the Internet.

While some of the fans hailed this as a perfect casting, others were apprehensive about the same.

One of the fans supported Stan's impersonation and said, "I don’t care what anyone says this is perfect."



 

Another user said, "He actually looks like a young Donald Trump. He is also an amazing Actor. 😅💪🏾👏🏾😁."
