Internet labels Hoda Kotb 'perfect' after 'Today' host reflects on becoming a mom later in life
NEW YORK CITY, NEW YORK: Hoda Kotb has recently shared insights into her journey of motherhood during a recent episode of ‘Today With Hoda & Jenna.’
Kotb and co-host Jenna Bush Hager discussed Sienna Miller's pregnancy at the age of 41 with her first child, alongside her boyfriend Oli Green after which Kotb reflected on being a mom.
Earlier, Kotb and Hager also lauded Oprah Winfrey’s epic weight-loss transformation and admitting to using weight-loss drugs.
Kotb said, “First of all, it works for Oprah, and she’s saying it out loud, which is awesome because I don’t know how many people, if any of us, know who are taking these [drugs] but are doing it in secret and saying, I’m just drinking water or I’m just walking.”
"The fact that there's a medically approved prescription for managing weight and staying healthier, in my lifetime, feels like relief, like redemption, like a gift." Oprah Winfrey opens up about her weight loss. pic.twitter.com/bfTYsXe4hU

‘Today’ Hoda Kotb reflects on being a mom
During an interview with Vogue for the magazine's winter issue, Miller expressed, "I’d love to get to a point where I didn’t feel the need to make a joke of my being older and having a baby. To show I'm in on the joke."
Responding to Miller's comments, Hoda Kotb, who became a mother for the first time at 52, expressed her understanding of Miller's perspective.
Kotb added, “Yeah, I think a lot of people do that, like you want to beat them to the punch, so you make the joke about, oh, I'm an older mom or if you feel heavy and... you make the joke about it. I was always a fat kid. That's the joke you make so no one else can make it.”
Nevertheless, regarding her own life, Kotb emphasized that she doesn't concern herself with the opinions of others.
Kotb expressed getting emotional, “I am so happy and fulfilled with my decision that I don't feel any ounce of shame because my dad died when I was in college. You get your parent for as long as you get your parent and they lay a foundation that you cannot shake.”
After a moment of reflection, Jenna Bush Hager mentioned that she admires Kotb for not feeling compelled to make light of her journey through motherhood.
Hager added, “Hoda doesn't feel like she needs a joke,” as Kotb agreed with her with a nodding head.
Hager continued, “Because she's so delighted by them that when you lead with delight, guess what follows? Delight! When you lead with enthusiasm and this has to do with everything, people are enthusiastic back."
"I love that you're totally secure in it," Hager told Kotb and she responded, “Yes, it was the best decision I’ve ever made.”
