RALEIGH, NORTH CAROLINA: President Biden faced backlash during his visit to North Carolina on Tuesday, March 26, as pro-Palestinian protestors voiced their concerns over the ongoing conflict in Gaza.

The incident marks the latest in a series of interruptions faced by the 81-year-old president and other administration officials regarding the war in Gaza in recent months.

Joe Biden admits that Gaza needs more healthcare

Biden was in Raleigh to discuss healthcare, a pivotal topic during his trip to the battleground state, when a woman's voice pierced the air, demanding attention to the healthcare crisis in Gaza.

"What about the health care in Gaza? What about the health care in Gaza?" she shouted, prompting the president to address the issue directly. "Everybody deserves healthcare," Biden conceded, acknowledging the woman's concerns amidst the commotion.

The interruption continued as other hecklers joined in, highlighting the bombing of hospitals in Gaza. Despite the disturbance, Biden urged patience and recognition of the valid points raised by the protesters. "They have a point, we need to get a lot more care into Gaza," he acknowledged, drawing applause from the audience.

After briefly addressing the interruption, Biden redirected the focus "back to the subject at hand," emphasizing the importance of healthcare access.

The president's visit, coinciding with the 14th anniversary of the Affordable Care Act, aimed to underscore his administration's commitment to healthcare initiatives.

However, Biden's appearances have been marred by persistent interruptions, particularly concerning the conflict in Gaza. Previous incidents in Pennsylvania and Illinois demonstrated the challenges Biden faces in navigating contentious issues amid vocal opposition.

"The healthcare crisis in Gaza is indeed dire, and addressing it is essential for the well-being of the region," Biden stated, reaffirming his administration's commitment to humanitarian efforts in conflict zones.

The conflict in Gaza has posed a diplomatic challenge for the Biden administration, with progressives criticizing US support for Israel and calling for a ceasefire. The administration has faced mounting pressure to reassess its stance on funding for Israel in light of the ongoing campaign against Hamas.

Joe Biden blasted for conceding to pro-Palestine protestors

Social media erupted with reactions after Biden's healthcare speech was interrupted in North Carolina on Tuesday.

"What a coward. He folds like a lawn chair. Doesn’t give a damn about hostages being held by butchers and rapists. Abandoning hostages is one of the most reprehensible things he has done," one posted on X.

"He responds to protesters but not reporters," another commented.

"What we need to do is free the hostages and dismantle Hamas," someone else offered.

"I never thought there'd be a weaker leader than Obama, but this dude proves me wrong every day," another chimed in.

Joe Biden turns critical of Israeli PM Benjamin Netanyahu

Biden's evolving stance on Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu reflects the shifting dynamics within US-Israeli relations, with Biden increasingly critical of Netanyahu's handling of the conflict.

Senate Majority Leader Chuck Schumer recently called for new elections in Israel - a speech later praised by Biden, who said he "expressed a serious concern shared not only by him but by many Americans."

Tensions escalated following Netanyahu's decision to forgo a high-level delegation to Washington, signaling strained relations with the US over the handling of the ceasefire resolution at the UN Security Council.

Despite the challenges posed by international crises, Biden appears to have shifted his focus to domestic priorities, particularly healthcare. His speech in North Carolina contrasted his approach with that of former President Donald Trump, who sought to dismantle the Affordable Care Act.

Trump's recent remarks on healthcare reform, however, stand in contrast to his previous calls to repeal and replace the ACA. He said he was "not running to terminate the ACA," but wanted to make it "much better, stronger, and far less expensive," NBC News reported.
