NEW YORK CITY, NEW YORK: In a recent report, well-placed sources claim that President Joe Biden has privately referred to Israeli leader Benjamin Netanyahu as a "bad f**king guy," expressing growing suspicions about Netanyahu's eagerness to involve the US in an all-out war against Iran-backed terror groups in the Middle East.

This comes as the Gaza war enters its fourth month and impacts the President's support among young voters.

White House denial and escalating tensions

Sources who have spoken with Politico disclosed that Biden made this comment as he has growing suspicious about Netanyahu's stance, believing the Israeli Prime Minister is all too willing to drag the US into a broader conflict with Iran-backed groups in the Middle East.

White House Deputy Press Secretary Andrew Bates responded to these claims saying the President had never made such a remark and that both Biden and Netanyahu enjoy “a decades-long relationship that is respectful in public and in private".

However, the alleged tension between the two leaders has become increasingly evident, reaching a climax in December when Biden reportedly hung up on Netanyahu during a heated call, per the New York Post.

The disagreement between Biden and Netanyahu extends to their views on limiting civilian casualties in Gaza, where the death toll has now exceeded 27,000 according to the Hamas-run Health Ministry. Furthermore, the leaders differ on the post-battle vision for the Palestinian enclave.

Despite the White House's efforts to downplay the discord, the latest New York Times-Siena Poll suggests that Biden is trailing Donald Trump among young voters. The poll indicates that 49% of registered voters aged 18 to 29 would choose Trump, while 43% would opt for the incumbent Democratic president in a November match-up.

A House Democrat conveyed the depth of anguish within the Democratic base over the Gaza conflict, telling Politico, "This is a disaster politically. The base is really pissed — and it’s not just the leftists. I have never seen such a depth of anguish as I’ve seen over this Gaza issue."

The lawmaker highlighted that Netanyahu is perceived as "toxic" to many Democratic voters and urged Biden to push Israel for a truce deal to avoid losing thousands of votes in the upcoming November elections.

“It was unanimous that this Israel-Gaza war needed to end now and that Biden needed to stand up to Bibi,” they said. “Bibi is toxic among many Democratic voters, and Biden must distance himself from him — yesterday.”

Despite such calls, Netanyahu dismissed the criticism and publicly backed Biden, even countering claims from within his nation's far-right party that Israel would be better off with Donald Trump as president.

"We deeply appreciate the support we have received from the Biden administration since the outbreak of war," Netanyahu stated during a cabinet meeting in Tel Aviv, per the Times of Israel.

“That doesn’t mean we don’t have disagreements, but so far we have managed to overcome them with determined and considered decisions,” he added.

Internet reacts to Biden's comments on Netanyahu

However, Biden was trolled on social media over his alleged comments about Netanyahu, with users questioning the President's handling of the situation.

"Got played by Bibi and can't walk it back," one posted on X.

"Too late Joe, too late," another wrote.

"He called CornPop the same thing," someone else quipped.

"Biden is worried that he is losing the pro-Hamas vote," a comment read.

"Bet he won't stop sending Netanyahu all the weapons he wants, though!" another insisted.
