Internet sends best wishes to Chance The Rapper and Kirsten Corley after they separate after 5 years
LOS ANGELES, CALIFORNIA: Chance the Rapper and his wife Kirsten Corley are no more together! The artist revealed the end of his marriage in a joint statement with his ex.
"After a period of separation, the two of us have arrived at the decision to part ways," they wrote on Instagram Story.
"We came to this decision amicably and with gratitude for the time we spent together."
It concluded with, "We kindly ask for privacy and respect as we navigate this transition."
When did Chance The Rapper and Kirsten get married?
The former couple tied the knot in March 2019, and share two daughters Kensli,8, and Marli Grace, 4, whom they plan to "raise together."
In an X thread, Chance talked about how he met Kirsten at age 9 during his mother’s office party.
"We were instructed to make way for an exclusive performance by DESTINY's CHILD!!" Chance shared a lip-synced performance involving Corley.
"Now I'm locking eyes with the prettiest girl I ever seen in my almost-a-decade of life on earth."
His dad asked him to show his dance moves to impress Kirsten but he didn’t budge.
"So I shook my head with anxiety, moved to the back of the crowd and never even introduced myself," Chance shared.
"16 years later it's happening. This (weekend) is the time, and the place is my wedding. I'm gonna dance with my wife because this is my destiny."
Chance The Rapper was rumored to have been going through a tough marriage, and possible split with his partner, reports USA Today.
'The Voice' judge was also seen dancing with another woman at his 30th birthday party in Jamaica last April. The clip went viral and his then-wife Kirsten shared a cryptic post on her social media referencing those who struggle while growing up.
