LOS ANGELES, CALIFORNIA: Kareem Abdul-Jabbar, who has had an illustrious 20-season career with the National Basketball Association playing for the Milwaukee Bucks and the Los Angeles Lakers, has unfortunately been hospitalized due to a broken hip caused by a fall, as per TMZ.
As word of his hospitalization has spread, there has been an outpouring of prayers and well-wishes from people across the internet, all hoping for his quick recovery.
Abdul-Jabbar's representative, Deborah Morales, disclosed to the outlet that he was present at the concert on Friday night, December 15, although details about the performer and location remain unclear.
The former Lakers star center accidentally fell, causing severe damage to his hip. Emergency medical services promptly arrived at the scene and transported him to the hospital for immediate care. His current health status has not been revealed.
Morales expressed Abdul-Jabbar's deep gratitude towards the Los Angeles Fire Department for their on-site assistance and the exceptional medical team at UCLA Hospital for their dedicated care.
It appears that Kareem is on the path to recovery.

Abdul-Jabbar has reportedly faced numerous health challenges since his retirement.
He successfully overcame chronic myeloid leukemia in 2008, underwent a coronary bypass operation in 2015, and publicly shared his diagnosis of prostate cancer in 2020.
Three years prior, Abdul-Jabbar, who had been crowned MVP six times, authored an essay, expressing gratitude for his survival from prostate cancer. He portrayed his medical journey as a model scenario, drawing attention to the racial inequalities present in the healthcare system.
"I've been fortunate because my celebrity has brought me enough financial security to receive excellent medical attention," stated the NBA star, as per WebMD.
He added, "But while I'm grateful for my advantages, I'm acutely aware that many others in the Black community do not have the same options and that it is my responsibility to join with those fighting to change that. Because Black lives are at risk. Serious risk."
