GILBERT, ARIZONA: Colt Ford is hospitalized after enduring a heart attack on Thursday, April 4.

The country star encountered a health scare following his performance at Dierks Bentley's Whiskey Row venue in Gilbert, Arizona, reported Daily Mail.

Is Colt Ford OK?

According to a press release issued on Friday, April 5, Ford is "currently under care in the Intensive Care Unit at the Banner Desert Medical Center in Mesa, Arizona."

His representative shared that the singer is "currently in stable, but critical condition in the ICU."

The 54-year-old revealed in 2021 that he had been diagnosed with eye cancer.

Speaking to People at the time, he said, "The doctor told me I was a week to 10 days from having to go on full chemo."

Ford returned to the stage days after undergoing the surgery. "I had so many friends asking, 'Why didn't you tell me?'" he shared.

"But I just thought everyone was dealing with so much stuff and stress."

"I didn't want to put that burden on anyone else. But it did feel good to have so many people reach out to me," Ford continued.

"It reminded me that it's not always about the music. They actually care about me — the person," he added.

Despite undergoing surgery and beating the cancer, the singer encountered yet another health setback as he was diagnosed with myasthenia gravis, an incurable autoimmune disease that affects a person's face, eyes, and throat.

In an interview with 'Taste of Country' in May 2023, Ford opened up about his myasthenia gravis diagnosis.

"It hadn't really affected my throat, but it really affected my eye. I had no control over my right eye," the musician said at the time.

"It really messes with your vision. I could see perfectly out of either eye, but then I would look together and I'd see three of you and you would be melting together like a lava lamp," he added.

Ford's fans took to social media to wish the singer a speedy recovery following his hospitalization after suffering heart attack.

"He’s very talented. Praying for his recovery," a user wrote on X (formerly Twitter) and another user wrote, "Heart attacks are becoming more and more common these days. It’s really sad and unfortunate. Praying for Colt!"
