LOS ANGELES, CALIFORNIA: In a heated exchange on 'The View', Alyssa Farah Griffin stirred controversy by accusing Democrats of mirroring MAGA Republicans during a House hearing with Special Counsel Robert Hur.

According to mediaite, the discussion erupted following Hur's contentious exchanges with Democrats over a report he authored, which referenced President Joe Biden's memory as "poor" and examined his handling of classified documents.

Griffin decries partisan discord

Griffin, a former communications official in the Trump administration, labeled the hearing as "partisan hackery" and staunchly defended Hur against allegations of political bias. "I thought it was partisan hackery on full sides on both sides," Griffin asserted.

She emphasized Hur's professional integrity and his steadfast adherence to the rule of law, highlighting distinctions between Biden's actions and those of former President Trump regarding classified documents.

Expressing her discontent, Griffin remarked, "I think it is a mistake, Democrats are running on democracy and upholding our institutions, they were sounding like MAGA Republicans. I’m sorry." This sentiment was met with immediate disagreement from co-hosts Joy Reid and Sunny Hostin.

'The View' panel debates Hur's neutrality

Hostin, drawing on her experience as a former prosecutor, contested the notion of Hur's impartiality, citing his appointment by Trump. "There is no way that a prosecutor puts — summarizes things in a report that are not contained in the transcripts," Hostin argued, implying partisan influence in Hur's assessment. Griffin countered by highlighting the public record of Hur's appointment, questioning the implication of political affiliation in legal proceedings.

The debate intensified as Hostin criticized Hur's characterization of Biden and suggested preferential treatment in comparison to past investigations involving Republicans.

“So only Democrats can try cases against Republicans and Republicans can try cases against Republicans?” she asked.

“No, what I’m saying is back in the day when I was a prosecutor, I didn’t know which of my colleagues were Republican, which were Independent, which were Democrats,” Hostin said.

“It’s public record who appointed them,” Griffin shot back.

“Yes, that is true. I was in the [Bill] Clinton administration and I was also in the [George W.] Bush administration, but — and that’s frequently the case — but this prosecutor was very partisan,” Hostin said.

Questions about Hur's objectivity

Griffin defended Hur's language and emphasized the differences in each case. The discussion culminated with Whoopi Goldberg's critique of Hur's approach, accusing him of veering into the realm of opinion rather than sticking to his mandate of assessing legal violations.

Griffin remarked, “That was one of the reasons he felt he couldn’t win the case.”

Hostin then mentioned Mike Pence's investigation into classified documents and insinuated that he was being treated more favorably due to the quieter resolution.

Griffin contested, stating, “The facts are different in each case!”

Whoopi Goldberg later intervened, criticizing Hur for adopting a "talk show host" approach in his report.

She summarized, "Here’s the bottom line… his job was — he had one job that was, did [Biden] break the law. And that was what he needed to comment on.”

Reactions to Alyssa Farah Griffin's remarks on 'The View'

Following Alyssa Farah Griffin's remarks on 'The View', social media erupted with a spectrum of reactions.

One user wrote, "Alyssa must take into account that FOX News has blown this out of proportion so even if Hur hoped that it wouldn't, the act is already done!"

Another added, "Alyssa doesn't realize, all the things she loves as a Republican won't exist without Democracy."

Someone else commented, "Alyssa girl, please. To equate dems with Maga nutjobs is a stretch. Da fuq. They were calling out Hurs inconsistencies."

Another replied, "Yes Alyssa Farah Griffin just because this isn't about Donald Trump doesn't mean we should lower the bar."

"@2:50. Alyssa’s defense of Robert Hurr is literally “he could have been more dishonest in his framing," wrote one user.

Another replied, "Alyssa is sounding like Meghan today."
