'The View' co-host Sunny Hostin, 55, shuts down 'unhappy trolls' who say she dresses 'too young'
NEW YORK CITY, NEW YORK: Sunny Hostin had some strong words for her critics who told her that she dresses "too young."
On January 23 episode of 'The View' the 55-year-old addressed the issue during a segment in which the Hot Topics table was discussing celebrities embracing body positivity and aging.
The topic was brought forth as a result of pop star Selena Gomez uploading a couple of Instagram Stories to reflect on how her body had changed over the years. "Today I realized I will never look like this again… I'm not perfect, but I am proud to be who I am… Sometimes I forget it's ok to be me," she wrote along with sharing two photographs in bathing suits.
Sunny Hostin cannot be bothered by trolls
"I think there are a lot of unhappy trolls in our country right now, and I think we have those X — formerly Twitter — thugs with their keyboard courage that would never say it to your face," stated Hostin after co-host Whoopi Goldberg introduced the subject.
"I'm 55. I get criticized often on these stupid social media things about, 'That's too young for you.' Well, guess what? I don't care. I like to wear what I want to wear," she continued.
As the audience applauded, Hostin went on to list out the things she gets criticized about, "My earrings are too young for me, my outfits are too young for me, my hair is too young for me, my makeup is too young for me."
"Guess what, again? I don't care. I've felt better than I've ever felt my entire life, and I'm 55," she added.

Sunny Hostin's take on body positivity
During an interview with People in January 2023, Hostin candidly approached the topic of body image while opening up about her decision to go for a breast reduction and lift, as well as liposuction, back in August 2022.
"I feel like a better version of myself. It was a health decision and a self-care decision," she told the publication.
"I thought I would feel shame, like, 'Oh my God, I'm doing plastic surgery like all these crazy celebrities.' But I don't feel shame at all. And I hope sharing my story will help more people. If they're feeling so body-conscious, the way I was — they can do what they need to do to feel better."
