LOS ANGELES, CALIFORNIA: Kim Kardashian is reflecting on her decision to allow her daughter North West sport a bold red lip for her family’s Christmas celebration in 2018 when she was just five years old.

During the launch of her makeup line SKKN by Kim on Friday, January 26, Kardashian told Bustle that she would probably not repeat the same mistake now.

Kim Kardashian says she would ‘probably not’ do the same

On Friday, when ‘The Kardashians’ star was asked to voice her opinion on the Sephora tween drama - where young girls were seen making a mess inside the beauty store - the business mogul admitted she hasn't “seen all this Sephora drama”.

However, she opened up about the makeup journey of her two daughters - North, 10, and Chicago, 6.

She said that her younger daughter is too young and she doesn’t let her do makeup. Kardashian revealed, “My littlest one's too little and I don't let her,” per Daily Mail.

Recalling the time when North West wore the red lip color during the family’s annual Christmas party of 2018, she said, “I look back and there's times when I remember I let my daughter wear a red lip once for Christmas.”

However, she is reconsidering her decision, as she said, “Would I do that now? Probably not.”

The 2018 incident elicited huge backlash after she posted photos from the bash on her Instagram. Kardashian, who was running her KKW beauty line then, announced a few days later that the shade was to be launched for makeup aficionados by the name, ‘Classic Red Lip’.

The billionaire socialite and reality star also defended her decision to allow North to wear the lipstick by writing on the social media platform X, “She picked it though! It's a special occasion!”

Kim Kardashian revealed Kanye West prohibited North from applying makeup

Following the makeup incident, in 2019, Kim Kardashian opened up to E! News about her ex-husband Kanye West banning North from wearing makeup until she was a teenager.

Addressing the issue, Kardashian - who was still married to the ‘Donda’ rapper - said, “I think he had it, he changed all the rules.”

She added, “I’d let her wear, you know, she has a little red for Christmas, I’d let her wear a red lip, or I’d let her do one pop of something.”

Commenting on her proclivity to indulge her daughter, she said, “I’d let her, if she’s wearing a black dress, a black lip. I kind of got in trouble for that, so it’s now no more makeup.”

She added, “North is trying to get in on the makeup, but she's being blocked heavily because her dad has stopped all makeup for her until she is a teenage.”

The incident also made her become more aware as a parent as she reflected, “I think as a parent you just learn and figure it out as you go and we realized we didn't really want her to wear makeup at a young age but she sees her mom putting on lipstick and lip gloss.”

Kim Kardashian says North West likes to dress her friends up

During the recent interview with Bustle, Kardashian opened up about North liking to “dress her friends up.”

She said, “At least with my oldest daughter, she just likes to dress her friends up and do makeup looks, whether it’s like Pikachu or the Grinch.”

She further added, “I don’t think she’s there yet to where she is going into Sephora and trying on stuff.”

She recalled an incident and said, “We were at Saks in the makeup department the other night and she tested something but put a heart on her face with it. I’m like, I don’t think that’s really why you use eyeliner.”

While she is not keen on allowing her daughters to wear makeup in public, she supports them in their experiments with her makeup while at home.

The mother-of-four said, “They are always trying to use everything that I have in my drawers. I think it’s a fun game for them. It’s art for them to try to do makeup, which is so fun for me to watch.”

She continued, “It’s like they want to play with their friends and do it, and then they want to just wash it right off. I’m down for the artistry. I think it’s fun when they’re trying it all and expressing themselves.”

Fans react on Kim Kardashian's revelations

Fans quickly erupted over Kardashian's words as many of them propounded that the reality star would "have a lifetime of regrets" for her decisions.

One of the fans said on Facebook, "I don't doubt they love their children, but I also don't doubt they're going to use them to get as much attention/fame/money as they can."

Someone else said, "Your actions over the years have shown that you will have a lifetime of regrets."

Another fan, however, supported her saying, "I was just thinking about this today. Glad she cleared that up."

"With what she has allowed North to do she will regret more than this for sure!" observed someone else.

"They will do anything and everything to their own kids to grab more headlines, attention and dollars! PATHETIC!!" commented another fan.
