LAS VEGAS, NEVADA: The Democratic National Committee doubled down on its attack against former President Donald Trump in light of the recent New York hush money case guilty verdict.

Days after unveiling a billboard labeling the 45th president a "convicted felon" who was out for "revenge and retribution" near his rally in Phoenix, Arizona, the Democratic Party came up with a similar billboard in Las Vegas, Nevada.

Ahead of Trump's campaign rally in the Sin City on Sunday, June 9, the DNC would target the Republican opponent with another billboard calling him "a convicted white-collar crook," according to Politico.

Democrats aim to capitalize on Trump's guilty verdict

The ad, paid for by the DNC and displayed a few miles from the rally site along an interstate in Las Vegas, aims to attack Trump's conviction and his economic record.

"Trump was a disaster for Nevada's economy. Now he's back," the text on the billboard read. "A convicted white-collar crook. Coddling billionaires, leaving workers behind."

Stephanie Justice, a DNC spokesperson, noted the new billboard would connect Trump's criminal record to his ill-treatment of Nevada's working class.

"After promising to take care of Nevada's middle class, he implemented a tax scam that made the ultra-wealthy and corporations wealthier off the backs of working families, repeatedly attacked unions, and sat back as Nevada bled tens of thousands of jobs," Justice said.

She further argued that Trump at present was "promising tax handouts to his billionaire donors instead of putting the interests of working Nevadans first," adding voters of Nevada would reject the "corrupt and unfit to serve" Trump in 2024 also.

President Joe Biden won the Silver State in 2020, securing 50.1% of the votes, whereas his GOP opponent stood at $47.7%, as per CNN.

The DNC had initially downplayed the former president's conviction but ramped up its attack after President Joe Biden called his predecessor a "convicted felon" at a fundraiser in Greenwich, Connecticut, nearly a week after the verdict.

Last month, Trump became the first former president to be convicted in a criminal case after he was found guilty on all 34 charges of falsifying his business records to cover up a payoff to adult movie actress Stormy Daniels before the 2016 election.

DNC's new billboard against Trump draws mixed responses

While some netizens have welcomed the DNC billboard, other have found it a "waste of money."

A user wrote, "That's a waste of money, going 'nyah nyah' when to racist maga cult it's a badge of honor, & middle of the road conservatives aren't much moved by "liberal new york" politics. @TheDemocrats' resources would be better spent advertising the good news: economy, jobs, etc."

"There needs to be 'Guilty' billboards along the entire road to the rally," another remarked.

A third user added, "Gotta love it, and they're tipping the taxpayer bucket to pay for it. America has become a petty nation of fools."

A fourth response read, "Donald Trump promised to take care of Nevada’s middle class. Instead, he ripped off working families and gave handouts to billionaires. When he returns to Las Vegas tomorrow, voters will be reminded of exactly what he is: a convicted white-collar crook."

"Crass! And will backfire like all their cackhanded attempts," someone else argued.

An individual wrote, "Billboard doesn't"knock"Trump as a convicted white-collar crook It calls him exactly what he is under the law of the United States of America All Americans should be concerned about any politicians who abuse our system NO ONE is or should above the law, Especially politicians!"

Another user said, "I do hope Democrats keep pushing this narrative. It’s proven great for fundraising, GOP unification, voter enthusiasm and polling in swing states!"
