Internet stunned as Swiftie’s purchase of Taylor Swift's entire acoustic guitar collection goes viral
LOS ANGELES, CALIFORNIA: An X (formerly Twitter) user went viral on the social networking platform after claiming to have bought more than $2,300 worth of Taylor Swift merchandise, particularly the pop star's entire acoustic guitars collection.
X user @blondieholic posted a screenshot of the Swift items she purchased, which included the acoustic guitars from the albums 'Fearless (Taylor's Version)', 'Red (Taylor's Version)', 'Speak Now (Taylor's Version)', '1989 (Taylor's Version)', 'Midnights', and 'The Tortured Poets Department'. The cost of each guitar was $399.
Taylor Swift's merchandise drew criticism from fans
"Oh my god i just blacked out and spent $2.5k on guitars. i can't even play guitar," X user @blondieholic captioned her post.

Swifties took to social media to voice their opinions that some of the new merchandise collections were excessively priced.
Products on Swift's website include clothing as well as a variety of collectibles and trinkets. Even though her "Swifties" fans are renowned for their devotion to the star, some have voiced dissatisfaction with the price.
One of the items that received a lot of online talk because of its high price tag was Swift's 8-ounce candle, which cost $50 and was marked with a sticker from The Tortured Poets Department, per Newsweek. The candle, according to the website, "features an oud and amber scent."
One fan posted on X a screenshot of the aforementioned candle, which is from Swift's holiday collection: "I appreciate Taylor's merch, but $50 for [an] 8-ounce candle is crazy."

Another fan added another item to their dissatisfaction saying, "I love you Taylor, but $75 for a blanket and $50 for a candle?!"

Although Swift's candles haven't received the best reviews for price, her website's merchandise generated a different kind of discussion.
Fans posted screen grabs of Swift's website on November 13 that showed three sweaters stacked on top of each other. The picture has been interpreted as a clue that Swift could be releasing recordings of her 2017 album Reputation and her 2006 debut album Taylor Swift.
The post displayed the top sweater with Taylor Swift's name on it, followed by another with the lyrics to her song 'Cruel Summer', 'Summer With You', imprinted on it.
The words 'Starry Eyes', which are lifted from Swift's song 'Call It What You Want', which appears on her 'Reputation' album, were displayed on the last sweater at the bottom.
Although fans began to argue about Swift's candle's price, it's not unusual for a candle with a celebrity theme. Cecred, Beyonce's haircare and lifestyle brand, recently released a limited-edition candle of the same size that costs $60.
Kacey Musgraves and Boy Smell's collaboration, Slow Burn, came out with a $56 price tag, per the outlet.
Netizens feel it's 'insane' to spend bucks on purchasing Taylor Swift guitars
The tweet had received over 25.6 million views at the time of writing, with several X users expressing the opinion that the purchase appeared to be irrational.
One X user said, "Working at target and spending 2.5k on guitars is crazy," while a second one said, "This is insane."
A third user added, "I feel so bad for you it was obviously a joke like i giggled when i saw it first then somehow it got out of control you cant joke on twt anymore because of woke."
"Wait a min is this real??? thats like peoples salary for 1 month wtf," exclaimed one.
Another wrote in part, "I hope you’re kidding, please. i didn’t even know she sold these and… your money, you can do what you want… but doesn’t mean that makes the choice financially smart."
"You had two thousand dollars and chose to spend it on.. taylor swift. i hate you btw," remarked one.
"You spent someone’s yearly salary on Taylor Swift guitars??" exclaimed another.

Others claimed that those were not real guitars as one said, "It’s ok, none of those guitars was designed to be played. They’re supposed to be hung on the wall as a decoration."
Another commented, "To be fair, you can hardly consider those as real guitars. So, you are good."
"Those aren’t even good guitars. Gotta give love to the marketing team for tricking these dumba*s women into buying this junk," said one.
