LOS ANGELES, CALIFORNIA: A California lady named Shelly Auguste filed a police report with the Los Angeles Police Department against Diplo in August, claiming that the DJ had distributed her nude photos without her permission.

Diplo, whose real name is Thomas Wesley Pentz, and Shelly have been embroiled in a court dispute since 2020. This is the second time she has accused the songwriter of distributing "revenge porn."

In her most recent lawsuit, Auguste is accusing the Mississippi mega-producer, 45, of a wide range of offenses, including battery, assault, defamation, deliberate interference in private matters, sexual battery, and gender violence.

Auguste initially accused Diplo of "preying" on her when the two first connected, as per Daily Mail. At the time, she was 17 and he was 36.

The LAPD sent Auguste's new case to the city attorney's office in November 2023, and it is currently being reviewed there, according to Pitchfork.

With a civil trial set for April 2024, Auguste is suing Diplo for allegedly violating the Ralph Civil Rights Act and the Tom Bane Civil Rights Act, as well as for sexual battery, gender violence, battery, defamation, assault, intentional disruption of emotional distress, and fraud.

Diplo's attorney Bryan J Freedman said, "For more than three years, Shelly Auguste has been orchestrating an ongoing smear campaign against Wes, and this is just more of the same," in conversation with Pitchfork.

"Now, Ms Auguste is at it yet again. But Wes will defend himself, and, just as he has done every time, Ms Auguste has defamed, harassed and attacked him and his family, he will win," he added.

In 2020, Diplo initially retaliated against Auguste after she requested a restraining order and accused him of disseminating pornographic material in revenge. He filed for his own injunction, arguing that Auguste was the one releasing his naked photos.

The DJ said his accuser was sharing nude pictures of him on social media and sending them to some of his former girlfriends, one of whom was the mother of his children.

Diplo accused LA woman of being 'dangerously unstable'

In October 2020, Auguste made the claims publicly on X (formerly Twitter). Not long after, she found a nude picture of herself on the internet, which she says was posted by someone claiming to be the DJ to "humiliate" and silence her.

Auguste was successful in getting a restraining order against the artist, preventing him from releasing any more "revenge porn."

A judge further ordered Diplo to seek "express written permission" from his accuser before he could share any more photographs and to identify everyone he could have shared them with.

According to Pitchfork, Diplo and Auguste agreed to sign a dual restraining order agreement in January 2021 to refrain from disparaging one another.

Diplo refuted the initial allegations in an October 2021 Instagram post.

He said at the time, "She was an obsessed fan of mine, and after I relinquished all contact with her, it appears that her only purpose in life has been to disrupt my work, my business, harass me and my close friends and attack me and threaten my family."

In addition, Diplo is currently suing Auguste for trespassing, sharing private materials, and stalking.

According to Diplo's April 2021 lawsuit, Auguste was accused of being "dangerously unstable" and of making "relentless efforts to communicate with him" following the breakup, including by creating fictitious social media identities.

Internet 'not surprised' as Diplo hit with more allegations

Social media users took to online platform X to express their opinions after the DJ was hit by an array of allegations for the second time.

One X user wrote, "If you are a male celebrity and you do not have these kinda allegations, shows how disciplined you are as a person. These allegations are becoming increasingly too rampant."

A second one added, "Serious allegations. Legal actions are unfolding," while a third one wrote, "Wow doesn’t look good."

"Wow that's a serious one," chimed in another person as one more noted, "Diplo sued for civil rights violations, no surprise."

"It's not surprising as this isn't his first time doing this," stated yet another person.

One more echoed a similar sentiment and wrote, "This isn’t the first accusation he’s facing. it’s time for people to hold him accountable."
