MANHATTAN, NEW YORK CITY: Jimmy Kimmel highlighted a significant contrast between himself and Judge Juan Merchan, who recently threatened Donald Trump with jail time for violating a gag order in the Stormy Daniels hush money case.

According to The New York Times, in a remarkable courtroom scene, Judge Juan M Merchan addressed Trump directly from the bench, indicating that if there were further infractions, he might forego monetary penalties and consider incarcerating the former president.

Kimmel foresees Trump's legal woes

Merchan, while cautioning Trump against further violations, stated, "The last thing I want to do is put you in jail", adding, "You are the former president of the United States and possibly the next president as well.”

Drawing attention to the situation, Kimmel remarked, "The judge is now threatening to put Trump in jail if he doesn't stop talking about the case, which means Trump is definitely going to jail because he can't stop talking about the case. It's like trying to get a dog to stop licking itself."

Kimmel found humor in this statement, quipping, "Which is funny because it’s the first thing I would want to do. It’s like number one on my list."

He continued, "How would that even work? I mean, like would they give him a cavity search? God help whoever gets that gig."

The host pointed out that Trump could avoid imprisonment by abstaining from targeting individuals protected by the gag order.

Netizens react to Kimmel's comments
