'Iran has requested a meeting': Trump reveals surprise talks amid shaky ceasefire
WASHINGTON, DC: President Donald Trump made a surprise announcement on Monday, June 29, claiming that Iran has requested a meeting amid the shaky ceasefire, which has been put to the test after the renewed hostilities between the two sides.
The fresh assault began after Iranian forces launched drone attacks on a commercial vessel in the Strait of Hormuz, which US officials cited as the trigger for the renewed fighting.

US-Iran to meet in Doha for a surprise meeting
President Donald Trump, who last week warned that "the Islamic Republic of Iran will no longer exist" if the United States is forced to escalate military action, said that a surprise meeting between Washington and Tehran is scheduled to take place in Doha on Tuesday.
In a post on Truth Social, Trump said that Iran wants a meeting with the US amid a fresh flare-up in the conflict. Trump wrote, “Iran has requested a meeting.”
He added, “It will take place in Doha.”
Trump links falling gas prices to Iran strategy success
In a series of Truth Social posts, Trump touted the highest-ever poll numbers, even claiming they exceeded his support on election day.
Highest Poll Numbers Ever. Even Higher than Election Day, November 5th. This despite the fact that, IRAN WILL NOT HAVE A NUCLEAR WEAPON!

“Highest Poll Numbers Ever. Even Higher than Election Day, November 5th. This despite the fact that, Iran will not have a nuclear weapon,” Trump wrote.
He also celebrated the falling oil and gas prices in a series of posts, arguing his Iran strategy is delivering economic benefits for Americans while reiterating that Tehran "will not have a nuclear weapon."
“Gas prices coming down fast! report any abuses at retail level,” Trump added in one of the posts he made on Monday morning.
The ceasefire deal all but crumbled on Friday as Trump confirmed that Iran shot “at least” four drones at ships trying to transit the Strait of Hormuz in what he called a “foolish violation.”
On Sunday, the US and Iran agreed to stop attacking each other once again, according to Axios' Barak Ravid.
