LOS ANGELES, CALIFORNIA: Matt Bomer revealed that he had no regrets about turning down the role of Ken in the blockbuster movie ‘Barbie’ which was directed by Greta Gerwig and starred Margot Robbie as the iconic doll.

The ‘Maestro’ actor opened up about his audition experience as he appeared on 'The Tonight Show' on Wednesday, December 6.

Bomer said he auditiond for four different Kens and was really into it. He said, “I got really into it, actually,” Bomer, 46, told host Jimmy Fallon.

“I had some projects in development — I wasn’t sure if they were gonna happen, or when they were gonna happen — so I auditioned," he added.

Bomer said he wore “four different looks” for the audition that included “Malibu Ken” and “business suit Ken,” and had been “looking forward to” being in the film.

Bomer opened up about he movie after Fallon told him about making headlines for a movie that he was not in.

 Matt Bomer chose other projects over 'Barbie'

However, the ‘Flightplan’ actor explained that some of the projects he had in development “came to fruition” and prevented him from taking the role in 'Barbie.'

He also said that he would have had to be away from his family for a year, “which was just too much time away.” The ‘Magic Mike’ actor said he didn’t have any second thoughts about his decision even after 'Barbie' became the biggest movie in the world.

Matt Bomer praised Gerwig and the cast of 'Barbie', stating, “I mean, I hope I get to work with Greta someday — she’s phenomenal,” ‘The Nice Guys’ actor added of Gerwig, 40.

“But I think they made a perfect movie and it was cast perfectly, and I got to do Fellow Travelers and Maestro and spend time with my family," he further said.

Bomer revealed in November that he had auditioned in 'Barbie.' He told Vanity Fair, “I recorded it on my own, played a bunch of different Kens — and I dressed differently for all of them,” he said.

“I recorded the lines of the other person’s dialogue on my recorder and then gave myself space to respond," he continued.
