LOS ANGELES, CALIFORNIA: Emma Stone has exciting news for her fans. The ‘Battle of the Sexes’ star announced that the ‘Cruella’ sequel will be released soon.

“It’s a blast. She’s a blast. So yeah, we’ll see. It’s a work in progress,” she told Variety on the sidelines of the Palm Springs International Film Festival.

'Cruella' was a great box office hit

Disney’s flick was a major success at the global box office, hitting the $220 million mark.

For the sequel, director Craig Gillespie and screenwriter Tony McNamara are also likely to make a return.

‘Cruella’ is a story about the antagonist of the beloved animated movie '101 Dalmatians.' A young and orphaned Cruella aspires to be a fashion designer, working under the egotistical haute couture designer Baroness Von Hellman (Emma Thompson) in 1970s London.

Thompson in an interview said, "It was a team of people creating both Cruella and the Baroness. We both felt when we stepped into the costumes that the character was sort of half-built for us. All we had to do was put it on and be there. And you don't always get that. Sometimes you just get a cardigan and an old pair of wellies, you know?"

Joel Fry and Paul Walter Hauser were the other cast members, playing Cruella’s longtime friends and partners in crime. Emily Beecham, Kirby Howell-Baptiste, and Mark Strong complete the cast.

Emma Stone is presently promoting her 'Poor Things'

Emma's latest flick is Yargos Lanthimos’ ‘Poor Things.’ It is a sci-fi black comedy based on the 1992 novel by Alasdair Gray with the same title.

She is a Golden Globe hopeful for best actress in a musical or comedy film.

Emma was also lauded for her silent short film, ‘Bleat.’ “It’s a 30-minute short film with an equal-length Q&A,” Stone joked in October. “I haven’t done this in a while. I’m sorry! I’m pretty nervous.”

The flick explores themes like loneliness and connection; death, love and desire, and human and animal interaction.

“I’m being serious. It’s my favorite thing to not have to speak. I wish often [that] we could cut many lines of dialogue because I think people can say a lot more without speaking,” said Emma.
