GREEN BAY, WISCONSIN: Donald Trump endorsed Republican Eric Hovde for the Wisconsin Senate race on Tuesday, April 2.

In February, the businessman declared his bid for Democratic Senator Tammy Baldwin's seat, putting an end to months of speculation, according to The Hill.

It is worth noting that Wisconsin is among the battleground states that will determine the outcome of both the presidential election and the control of the Senate.

Wisconsin Democrats denounce Donald Trump's endorsement of Eric Hovde

At a rally in Green Bay, Wisconsin, Trump declared, "I met Eric, and I’ve studied Eric and I — because we have to get it right and running against some very fine people, really. But I’ve looked it out, and they’re going to have other opportunities. Eric, I am giving you my complete and total endorsement."

The MAGA frontman remarked, "So go out and win. Go out and win."

Wisconsin Democrats denounced Trump's endorsement in a statement issued shortly after his announcement.

Arik Wolk, a spokesperson for the Wisconsin Democratic Party, claimed in the statement, "Eric Hovde and Donald Trump are birds of a feather: two out-of-touch rich guys running to put themselves first and Wisconsinites last."

He added, "From banning abortion, repealing the Affordable Care Act, and promoting MAGA conspiracies about January 6 and the 2020 election, Donald Trump and Eric Hovde won’t fight for Wisconsin values."

Cook Political Report, a neutral election handicapper, ranks Baldwin's seat as "lean Democrat."

Internet trolls Donald Trump for endorsing businessman Eric Hovde in the Wisconsin Senate race

One remarked, "Kiss of death delivered!" and another quipped, "Shocked that Trump would back a millionaire. Maybe he's one of those millionaires who understands the struggles of the middle class."

"Well there goes your Senate career Eric," joked a person, while someone else said, "His endorsement is the kiss of death. ASK GOVERNOR LAKE, SENATOR HERSHEL WALKER, AND SENATOR OZ."

An individual stated, "They should call it a curse instead of an endorse!"

One more proclaimed, "To my fellow Americans (Democrat, Republican, or Independent), Those who DON'T stand AGAINST Donald Trump are just as responsible for what happens to America… as those who DO stand WITH him. Don’t Let Donald Trump Fracture America. Signed, A Disabled American Veteran"
